I’m Confused About My Calling | Maybe: God | Pastor Steven Furtick | Elevation Church

People throw around the word “calling” in church. But how are you supposed to find yours? Knowing when God is actually calling you to do something in your life is often a lot more complicated to figure out than we'd want it to be. It would be great if we could get a clear, 'Yes' or 'No' but often we need to learn to move on a 'Maybe'.

What if you want to follow god but your stuck in drug addiction...Why doesn't God just take away the cravings. I been trying to get better for years without success and I taught God would just take away the cravings.

As a whole the word brought was seasonal for me the one part that really stuck out was the conflict of calling. I find myself in that very situation and In regards to the many heads statement (which I find hilariously truthful) I have been called to so many things but I've always struggled to do what I know God has been calling me to be. It's hard because alot of who I am and what I've done so far has to be put aside so I can be that. Thanks ps Steve and elevation church for this timely truth.

I'm not sure if this counts but maybe. I have a disability that keeps me out of work and driving. During the past 3 years I have noticed the absolute Beauty of of Creation that my wife is to busy to see. I have seen amazing sunset's summer Thunder storms plants that I used to pass by with out a thought. Just recently I used to dislike all snow but I saw this Sparkling or Scintillating as I said snow that caught the light just right to sparkle! Very Beautiful Creation is. I'm thinking that God may be trying to say something to just me as my wife scoffs at the snow. Maybe God is Whispering to just me in these moments that I notice. God bless everyone who reads this. i’m watching this a whole year later and it is EXACTLY what i needed... i’m sixteen and i have a burning passion to be gods light through music and singing. I have no words just tears, Satan must know that whatever God is about to do is going to be so powerful because he won’t leave me alone!!! 😭 He’s broken me down and made me feel like I was wrong, made me doubt my calling, made me feel so weak in my faith... but God has the upper hand!! 🙏🏽❤️ I will stay in my place and just listen.

I went through the same thing when God called me to celibacy with him and when he called me to be an Irish Dancer. I was under attack for months, with nightmares, and waking up with panic attacks and a voice in my head that wouldn’t leave me alone, and sometimes it still does. All I could do was cling onto Jesus for dear life. God used that time in my life to build endurance in my faith, and He still is. God brings all things for good, and no matter how you suffer, God is using it for a greater purpose. Even though there will always be suffering, God will walk through the fire with us. May God be with you, and bless you! ☺️

I say this in a loving and most respectful way : Steven please be careful in choosing your words during your sermon, please take caution in using foul or slang words. I enjoy and learn so much from you and I am the least to judge anyone, this doesn't come from a place of casting stones or casting judegment but from a place of love for correction, that me and my young 3 children watch your sermons on youtube and if the tv is on, my little ones are hearing your words, not this sermon but one that came on after you used a word I wouldn't agree is okay or would be in the bible (what would Jesus do or say) but I say this with upmost respect and love for the younger generations that look up to you and for yours and your families sake and sadly others that may think its okay to talk as the world talks. Please pray and take this comment to heart, pray and ask the Holy Spirit to help you and show you. I myself am still praying for help in this area as a mom too. I love you as a brother in the Lord Jesus and I pray for the whole church and the entire world to take into careful consideration and account for what we all say 🙏❤ You are awesome your words are powerful you are chosen and highly favored and I am so happy for the work you are doing for the Lord and the work Jesus is doing in us all. @@dustymar4341 if sin is preached all the day long is it possible that we're delving into legalism??? That's what grace is for. Surely most sincere believers have studied to some extent the sinful nature of man and the need to extinguish it from our lives. How often should the preacher expound upon this particular subject matter when there are so many other matters of the faith to be taught?? Sin was dealt with on the cross. I accept the grace of God to deal with my personal sin. If the preacher and the ministry that's entrusted to him are bearing good fruit, surely God will inform him that he and the congregation need to confront sin that has crept into the camp.

Thank you for this song. I am a human traffic survivor. I can tell you there is a God. He reached out to me and miraculously saved me from a captor in a foreign country. He made a way. I blindly followed him in the night and made it home safely with 3 children in tote. I praise God everyday for seeing me worthy. Thank you Jesus for being my only friend during that time.

I’ve experienced the same thing a few months ago. At some point along my path I was so frustrated and worried. Then for some reason I felt compelled to open my bible. It felt weird because I didn’t know what the heck I was doing, opening to a random page. I broke down in tears because that page had the ANSWER to hearing God 🙏❤️

I met pastor Cindy a few wends.ago.atthe end of her sermon I sat weeping realizing embracing the feeling in my soul that what she said was really God speaking to me. She was asking if anyone needed prayer I raised my hand and said my service animal had passed .she opened her bible and read that all the creatures we love God is holding for us in the same release of sorrow she said to me do u know u have an anointing profetic over your head God has given u the gift of vision. What a Revelation how did she know....god speaking !!!! Pastor on u tube god's sermon threw you really blessed me with more calling understanding and again he speaks.....God bless the church

I've been raised in church dedicated to God a month old. However my walks been on both side of the fences throughout my life I'm now in my young 50s and my life really didn't change until I start reading the Bible the whole Bible. People say don't read the Old testament it's irrelevant no it's teaching me who God of Israel is was and forever will be. And I'm so thankful for the fruit's of the spirit and I just left an abusive relationship after 14 years and being able to rest and not feel guilty or shame God's healing me from the inside out and just stay in his presence & embrace the seasons of my live thank you pastor.. the blessings that God is putting upon me are beyond amazing. Read the Bible. I promise you it will change everything.

I'm a 25 year old who is still in college, and I have not made great decisions up to this point in my life. Without my father, I wouldn't have the opportunity to still be in school and "make something" of myself. The quote "If you're not dead, God's not done" really impacted me today. I often feel extremely unfulfilled, and have no idea what God has called me to do. Recently, I have been crying out my heart to God and allowing Him to change me into a new creature. I just hope that the new creature is something that would make God, as well as my family, proud.

On Saturday I wrote on a piece of paper "My calling is..." and put it up on my wall and told myself God will fill in the rest. This morning as I woke up and read the words a still voice finished the sentence and said 'God'. And now I just finished listening to this sermon and I'm amazed at how good God is. Father I shall listen. Praise God.

My whole decision when I gave my life to the Lord was to intercede because I know God is called me to intercede. I did it for my family. I did it for the generation for my children and their children and my children’s children. I came with a heart of stone. Due to so much trauma she’s a majority of my life. And now it’s turned into I love the Lord I want to give him all of me. I struggle with letting go. God help me to let go. God help me to give you all of me. I’ve never been able to give all of me before. I’ve always known God has called my life since I was a little girl. I don’t have many memories. But I know Jesus loves me back then he was my first love. I am seeking to passionately fall in love with God.

I haven't been since my stepfather died and i always would say im never going back because if it wasn't my stepfather church i wouldn't go and i never did and I've never asked god for forgiveness but i realized that i am the church and no matter what god knows where my heart is but i have a son who loves god at the age of 6 years old and i want him to experience gods word at church also i have been having this heavy cold like feeling that comes over me when i pray when i talk about god to people i know he is calling on me i know he wants me to Speak and help people understand he loves them and no matter what You're going through remember he is there all you halft to do is pray to him

This is the second time i've listened to this preacher. The first I was at work listening on ear buds. I stopped paying attention and started humming to my self . And he caught my attention with "you might not even be listening right now, you could be singing to yourself or something." This time , 2 years later, I was literally falling asleep when he talked about dosing of during his sermons. Lol caught my attention. I came to faith after god made his existence very clear to me. Lately I've been slipping away from church and the calling he gave me. I needed this sermon.

The dream of being a pastor and leading a church has never died. Been working in the secular work place for nearly 13 years now because I wanted to make good money to provide for my family.
