You're forgetting Mikael. He was definitely the most badass, deadly vampire. The man pulled out papa tundes blade out like it was nothing, was able to fight off the pain, hallucinations and ravenous hunger caused by werewolf bites through sheer force of will. In terms of physical power he was one of the if not the strongest character and in terms of mental strength he was the strongest character I've ever seen on a CW show.

Arian Klaus is not at the end of that list. Klaus killed Mikael several times and so is stronger. Klaus killed Lucien through mental strength and so is better in battle. Klaus almost killed Marcel and Marcel still breathes only because Klaus allowed it and had a moment of foolish weakness.
