Rose actually never truly knew elijah Even her best friend was just a vassal who barely knew elijah When elijah tells to elena that klaus is his younger brother she is astonish by the revelation And apparently julie plec didn't wrote elijah in the show to be an original It's a bit after that when Daniel's performance was so well that she decided to keep him.

@@korey_keith8983 klaus only became a hybrid after he performed the ritual with elena and the whole doppelgänger blood thing. he was an original vampire until then. the hybrid part of him activated later. klaus as the hybrid was the scariest which is why i said elijah was scarier than klaus when he was a vampire. hope that explains it

People underestimate him because he’s good at hiding his true emotions and that makes him unpredictable so if you think about it he’s more dangerous cause everyone knows how klaus is going to react to certain things so you can prepare for it with Elijah you can’t

The difference between Elijah and Klause. Elijah isn't good or evil, he's just the same kind of nasty as Klaus, but he's reasonable whereas Klaus is just bloodthirst. When in terms of evil deeds, they're equal hands down.

Your last line is why I am more comfortable with the idea of Klaus-types than Elijah-types. Sure, Klaus does more wrong because of his temper and his insecurities and Elijah allows his empathy out more often than Klaus. However, people who have pseudo-honor codes usually have them to justify their wrongs, whereas Klaus would know his wrongdoings were wrong with enough hindsight and regret, he just still did them.

Elijah was far more vicious than Klaus ever was. He was just calm and calculating, while Klaus acted on emotion. Elijah would kill anyone he didn’t consider useful or family without hesitation.

Plus they are classy and usually reserved on the outside but have a darkness they try their hardest to suppress but when it comes out it consumes them. Klaus and Damon are kind and gentle souls that try to act like their evil when that’s really a farce they put up.

Klaus literally only has the upper hand because of his werewolf side. If he was just a vampire Elijah could wipe him out in a second. Elijah was the one who kept Klaus in check. So while he's not as bloodthirsty as Klaus, and can be reasonable, he's quite strong. No one else can tame Klaus and his rage like Elijah can. Not Rebekah, nor Kol.

One thing everyone forgets is most of the things that "scaled" them as far as who was the worst or scariest is all the things they've done in the past and in just about every flashback Elijah was compassionate trying to stop Klaus from basically dominating the entire world. They thought Elijah was weak but he was just a good guy Klaus didn't care about anything he killed whoever, whenever, wherever, in the most demonic and somewhat poetic ways

For Klaus he had a plan and he was predictable. But Elijah was silent but deadly, you never know what’s going on in his head and what he is thinking. He was brave and strong, he would do anything for his family. Being one of the older siblings, all the younger ones would go to him when they needed a shoulder to cry on. Yes, Klaus is a hybrid which makes him more stronger than his younger siblings but Elijah is older which makes him just as strong as Klaus.
