in his book, Beatles Destroyed RnR Elijah continually uses "white people" as a pejorative, as I suspected he comes from a wealthy Jewish background and is trying to cut it by playing black people's blues music. So much of his "expert musical criticisms" are a projection of his insecurities trying to play authentic black music while growing up privileged. predictable.

I consider myself white and do not use that term pejoratively. I use it descriptively, recognizing cultural differences linked to race and racism-if you find my use of “white”pejorative, I’d be interested to know why.

As for the way I play blues, I’ve been trying to sing in a whiter, more northern, urban dialect, fitting my own background-I’ve changed numerous lines in this song to fit my own speech, which is naturally different from Tommy Johnson’s.
