Those little lights inside the sarcophagus are one of those super nerdy things that get you really amped for a product to where you forget just a little bit, how expensive it is. Super cool!!

My take Pros - well extended treble, sub bass boost, good soundstage depth and width, LDAC support, big case for chunky IEMs like IER Z1R and Monarch MK3 Cons - touch panels are too sensitive, no volume limiter, no EQ, no ambient mode, no ANC I also have the UTWS5 and feature wise UTWS5 wins and I like the button controls of the UTWS5 compared to the touch panels of the Go Pod

Utws5 has akm dacs, while this has cirruslogic. Akm is better imho. However, dont think the utws5 have enough power to drive the monarch mk3s

Shure 846 with Shure TW2 is my favorite Bluetooth set. It has a 4-band parametric equalizer & ambient mode; the EQ setting is saved in the TW2, so it applies to audio anything.

When I heard ifi was doing a set of these I was excited but the price is a deal breaker for me... especially considering there's none of the ifi goodies such as xbass and xspace and I don't think this offers enough for the price.

BTW harmonicdyne zeus elites are coming out and I am considering them because I missed out on the OG zeus and I love my poseidons, have you heard the zeus elites yet?

I have the Fiio's mentioned and have trouble with the IEM disconnecting / getting loose from the Bluetooth adapter. Dangerous when on the subway/bus with Xenns IEMs that could launch onto the tracks at any moment.

My only wireless connections are my antenna on the roof and signals from my modem to computers. Those little batteries are frail. Hard wire wherever you can and save yourself the aggravation.

Fiio is beta testing firmware for the 5's that support LDAC. I tried it for a few minutes and it seemed to work good.

I found 1.7 too buggy with reconnecting while charging in the case. My Pixel 7 Pro doesn't have a Qualcomm chip so even though it can theoretically do LDAC it doesn't have enough of the "magic" to keep a stable connection. If they could improve audio passthrough and implement noise cancelling somehow that would be amazing.

@@DarrenKrusi I doubt they can do noise cancelling since it would be hard to configure with all of the earbuds. My biggest problem right now with my UTWS5 is the 2 pins don't seem to hold the buds in. I'll try it some more at home to see if the connection is usable from a couple feet or not. Also the buds connecting while charging has been a known issue for awhile. Well before this latest firmware

@@psychoacerthe big issue that causes the hooks to connect in the case/disconnect from charging is that the charging connections for the hooks for the UTWS5 are prone to corrosion. They need to be periodically scoured with alcohol and/or a knife tip or small wire brush. Helps to angle the bottoms of the hooks away from your skin so they don't accumulate sweat and dirt to corrode.

I guess I don't have an allergy to wires. I can get amazing sound from a variety of portables with a LOT more power and battery life for a LOT less money. An ifi hip dac v2, or go blue or a btr7 are far more attractive to me.

I have the Fiio UTWS5 v1 its great apart from the annoying bug turning on and reconnecting after a few minutes, when you put them back in that case. Issue since the occurs with the UTWS3 aswell and hasnt been fixed at all. Definitely a deal breaker for some

Yeah, I can't live with it anymore. If they fixed that in the UTWS5, they'd be nearly perfect for me... but they haven't. So as soon as I can pick up a set of these Go Pods, I'm doing just that.

too expensive and the case is too big. utws5 case is already too big and i ended up splitting my oh10's wide open in my pockets while carrying them naked in pant pockets and had to super glue it. also ergonomics is a thing on some iem's where if i use variations on utws5, the weight forces them into a wrong angle eventually when you move around and they get uncomfortable enough to swap iem's.

I love my Fiio UTWS love the form factor I love the idea of it but they're just so impractical because of one reason. for me and so far these sound like they have the exact same problem cuz no one's talking about it. latency latency latency.I would love to be using these at my PC everyday all day. when a normal person can just put these in their ears and have the exact same experience as somebody plugging in a jack. gaming movies conference calls whatever. that's when you know you have fire. put the wireless transmitter in the case or something.I have faith.

Fiio is OK but QC is poor. I had to return one unit and the replacement battery is rubbish...suppposed to have 30hrs in the box battery but most i get out of it is about 8hrs. Will be getting these despite the extra costs in th ehope thay actually have a decent battery life

I have a TRN BT20Xs, it is a poor man go pods, and it is great. I store a extra cable an TRN EMA and a WangEr SG on its case. I don't even remember when I last charged. I have not bought extra cables, since most of my iems are qdc. I literally can't live without them anymore

Maybe Saving for the GoPod V2? Also they usually do Xbass in the Analog rhelm. SO that is much harder to integrate in this.

Meh, for the price and versatility, the UTWS5 is the much better option imo (even with its flaws) as they now have LHDC and LDAC compatibility and it's what, 1/4 of the price for 90% of the same features?

I have two sets bt hooks from KZ with QUALCOMM Aptex codecs and I have to say that I hate them even if they sounds great.. I was using them maybe for 2 weeks and cant anymore. This is so strange filling when battery pack touches your back ear and neck when you move your head, its like someone fingers play with you haha. I think I will never enjoy devices like that. But there is for me better solution and names Qudelix 5K . Simply connect your Iem to it bend the wire around your neck and clip Qudelix to the wire with clip and you will forget that you have wired set. Qudelix is so light that you will not fill any puling force and sound Quality with presets is WOW! And if your 15 hours battery dies you can still plug it to your phony by usb c. 400$ dollars is bit to much for device like this for me of course when I hate wearing it.

That's exactly my issue with the UTWS5. I hate the feeling of the unit touching my skin. It gets sweaty and just feels disgusting. The ear hooks are also way too thick and make my ears tender and sore after a very short amount of time.

i have some ksc75s that are mmcx modded to have removeable cables and i can use the fiio utws3 to make them true wireless, dont even gotta use the ear hook because the dongles function as a hook c:

And now just add ANC and I will be the happiest guy in the world. PLEASE I need those for very noisy commuting but custom IEMs arent enough. It needs ANC + custom IEMs for full isolation for traveling and commuting. Please, Fiio or iFi. Make it happen. Just add 3 mics and but in some generic ANC algorithm. It cant be that hard can it??

the elephant in the room.... its the batteries... the case battery, and the ear piece batteries... they aren't user replaceable and when one of those batteries goes dead then that expensive wireless solution is worthless... if they would just put in a user replaceable battery in there then the price would be justified... but they didn't...
