This looks cute!! it definitely has the trademark designs of recent Pixar (turning red and Luca) with the round faces and big eyes, and the backgrounds in space look absolutely gorgeous, with charming character designs. Imma keep my eyes out for this one.

@@likeaglovelikeaglove8633 we care, because its real. Its COOL to see these things movies usually dont ever include because its "imperfect" or "not ideal". Kids who have to wear this patch can now say "look im like elio!" and feel bettter about it.

this looks really great! also i remember seeing yonas kibreab, elio's voice actor, on tasty's i draw you cook series and thought he was so sweet and respectful, it's so cool that he'll be voicing the lead for this movie :]

Uh, did anyone else notice the giant wave stuck in suspended animation right before Elio got abducted by aliens? I think the writers are implying that Elio was about to be killed before the aliens intervened and he was trying to talk to his mom one last time. Looks like this scene more or less sums up their relationship as mother ans son, and it's not that great. 🌊

Thinking about it more and watching that call part, he looked to have been sitting on a log in the woods. Maybe he got lost and he was trying to call for help? And his sad expression as the call ended, instead of trying again to be heard, makes me think being dismissed and ignored in favor of her work is not a new thing for him. He knew it was no use to try again so he just said bye and i love you

The “uh-earth” joke in this just reminds me of the “Voorgenieia” joke from John carter, although I’m glad that it was able to follow up with a pretty funny line, even if it also followed the “aliens can’t understand human language” joke.

I like to think this movie takes place in the same cinematic universe that Luca and Turning Red take place in due to the similar animation styles and plots.

Im sorry, what similar plots. Luca is about friendship of boys, Turning Red is about teenhood and Elio is about a young kid being mistaken as an ambassador of Earth

Oh great another Luca spinoff. Looks interesting though. I can agree that new Pixar films are suddenly including cryptozoology now. One of these 2 examples are turning red and Luca. And hey dreamworks is making a film about a kraken. What a coincidence.
