Any time somebody tells me it should be easy to give the ships interiors all I have to do is point to the stairs and the Cutter and ask, "Does it look like they have a clue how to design anything for people?"

The size of this ship is incredible. The entry staircase makes it look smaller than it is, those steps seemingly for giants. Once you're on foot though, the sheer mass is overwhelming, easy to see why it has the largest internal storage space. Literally a flying skyscraper.

Still ship models need to be redone, to better encompass the scale (look at cutters staircase).

@@alexandercummins Someone on another video suggested it might be an escalator, and I love that idea. It's so painfully Gutamaya to have the boarding ramp be an escalator made of ~6'x3' platforms.

I love the size of Elites biggest ships .. The stairs are a none issue just turn the stairs into a ramp where people and vechicles can use. When they talk about how big Star citizen ships are I direct them to videos like this one. haha

It's funny, but if you pause it at 0:47 there's no way that those stairs would even be possible to climb, for anyone. Andre the Giant couldn't have used those stairs!

Empty weight 1100 tons. 4 AN 225 weight, and 25 AN 225 size. The metal frame can also be used as a hot air balloon. Due to its too light weight and large size, it is difficult to land in strong atmospheric activities.

The ships look small in elite because there is nothing human scale on the ships to give the right perspective. Those stairs were way to big for any human

It's weird when you remember that your commander has always had a visible in-game model, and Odyssey didn't change its size - just allowed it to get up out of the chair. The devs absolutely had a frame of reference when designing the ships in the game, they just didn't always use it. The espresso maker in the Krait is appropriately sized for an espresso maker but the stairs on the Gutamaya ships were designed for a ship 1/4 of the in-game size if even. It's weirdly dissonant. I said this on another comment already but someone somewhere suggested the boarding ramp on the Cutter/Clipper is actually an escalator and I could totally believe that. Gutamaya is so completely (canonically, in universe) over the top with their design and luxury that I could _absolutely_ see them building a ship with an elevator-from-Evangelion-but-it's-an-escalator gangplank.
