Elite Dangerous - Type-10 AFK Ship

I hear a lot about AFK type 10 builds and various other ships. So I thought I’d give it a shot myself. #Elite #EliteDangerous #AFK

Thank you for an un engineered build, honestly can't be asked to engineer it seeing that I will be using it to grind materials probably

I accept that non-engineered outfits will be not great for this one but I dont expect much, just need 1-3 hours AFK while Im working. Thank you for your effort!

I use a Corvette with large lazer in a mid security nav beacon with friendly ai as back up I let my ai pilot fly my big Corvette

Most importantly the federal security must be friendly as the will pull the aggro.

You stack WING PIRATE MASSACRE MISSIONS for the afk build. The more factions the merrier. You hop into discord, perhaps the afk creators channel, im not sure. Look for people sharing their missions. 4 cmdr's in a wing, means 4x the profit, 4x the mat and 4x the rank (be it fed or imperial).

I have everything upgraded and I still get my ship destroyed after 8 hours when I come back. At a weekend I tracked to see where is the problem and seems there are 2 problems. 1. If your fighter dies your ship gets destroyed (mine is deadly and still gets destroyed) 2. At one point there is a scout ship shooting from behind and non of the ships are getting aggro. Yes it works but for shorts periods of time 1,2,3 hours

Turreted weapons. Fighter. Low resource extraction site, I wouldn’t go anything other than low personally. Mine isn’t engineered and seems ok, not super long periods however. Maybe I should leave it over night to do a real test.

Sorry I never replied. Mine was 529 million but I put Prismatics on which are much more expensive.

530 million. It was prismatic shields which are pricey. You could do this for less.

I was doing this and mining at same time the other day. Can't believe how many stupid npcs in haulers I destroyed. Made more doing that than the gold I got.

I got one with long range flow control pulse lasers. Works ok. I don’t use a fighter tho. Not sure if it’s worth it.

You must have a fighter to make this work. Get a 6D fighter hanger with two bays. That way, you can launch a replacement immediately and not wait for fighter construction during a fight. Use Taipan (GELID F) w/fixed beams and heatsink. I hired my pilot at competent and worked her up to elite. You must check up on frequently until at least deadly rating. Always set orders at "Fire at Will". You want her aggressive. Weapons on ship should be turrets and long range engineered. Use energy weapons only. Ammo is no issue this way. Now, go make Billions! If you are really interested in getting this system down to a fine point, go watch videos by The Blitz. O7, Commander!

AFK FARM IS DEAD AFTER 11 UPDATE: no more "MISSION OBJECTIVE" ships in the place of resource extraction (low). All pirates are simply "WANTED". What does it mean? AFK pharm is fixed? Or is this one of the bugs after the 11 update?

Honestly not sure. I did this an an experiment, others have done similar. Was fun to do but not something I actually do to make money. Worth a play for something to do though.

F'Dev is attacking AFK ships with a clean system authority ship to tag the AFK with wanted and impose all system authority ships. How do we force a cessation to this unethical action by F'Dev?

I’ve not heard that one, that said I don’t really use AFK builds. This was more about proof of concept. I had seen others do similar stuff and I wondered if it would work.

Did hawkes copy off TheBlitz or was it the other way around? AFK ship is not an original ideal. I don’t pretend it is. I don’t believe I have seen either of those two videos you mention. I’ll happily give credit to the idea to anyone that has done this before me, there’s been a few. The AFK build is an idea. It’s a clever idea. I took the idea and did my version of it. I’m off to the world of death to do a video on that. This also isn’t original.

Smiling Dog Crew did a AFK build video years before Hawkes and TheBlitz even started playing Elite. The AFK concept has been around since engineering came out.
