While not a peaceful ending because they are still at war, it's still a good ending. I am hoping for a second season and a true ending where the war ends and they all survive.

so hellsing, fist of the north star, saga of tanya the evil and evangelion doesnt count? you said series, not anime, so i guess i can add gunnm, exxaxion and to the list, too. and i'm surely missing a lot of big fucking guns. because it's not that hard to make one, much less to make it fail. it's a big ol shoot at me sign with sparkly colors and fireworks attached. the austro-hungarians made some, the nazis made some, the french made some, the italians made some too. all in all, they all proved the world that a 100+ ton, multi million [insert currency] gun is a fucking useless waste of manpower once a plane can carry a 100kg bomb. also a lot of japanese are not only nazi fanboys, they are actual, bonafide neo-nazis.

@@sulwhale3171 Light novel as the name suggests is a short novel... So yes mostly words. There are a couple illustrated pages but that's about it. Most light novels have a page cap that is roughly the minimum you'd expect from a full novel. Exceptions exist for both and they can overlap. Distinction is arguably arbitrary. 86 is originally a light novel

The main goal of the propaganda is to justify all atrocities they committing towards non Alba. They need the racist policies so to make sure no 86 becomes citizens again. They think they're using legions to do the deed to keep their hands clean. And they don't need 86 to defend them because the legions are gonna expire soon anyways.

In the light novel volumes, she is shown to be absolutely elite; she was able to memorize the map layout of a structure the size of a literal mountain and direct troops within in purely from memory, a feat that even a genius who was able to create machines on a similar level to the Legion was completely unable to do. Also, she literally was the main reason anyone in the Republic was able to survive for so long when the Legion struck, as she was the commander responsible for the strategy and tactics in their defense line. With what you see in the anime, she doesn't appear that elite, but in the light novel volumes, she is definitely an incredible commander, made even better by the fact that, unlike the Republic, the 86 have absolute faith in her due to her being literally the only competent commander they ever had, making her the perfect commander for them.

In the anime it seems she has less a photographic memory and it implies (we don't get too much screentime of "idle" moments so not much is explicit) that she's poring over visible aids like computer maps or hand ones. But even if she was doing smart stuff off screen that got glossed over in the anime, it's easy to look like an elite when you're the only competent person in the job, which is why I asked that.

I like this channel as well, personally I found 86 to be very overrated and couldn't bring myself to watch. A recap is perfect in this situation, giving a nice digestable plot summary.

you should watch this one though... Its so awesome, one of my most favorite animes. I just watched it a week ago

@@shugen6397 but the initial episode had a slow pacing. And unnecessary death of a side character (Eugene) . Like in s1 daiya and Kaie death really felt somewhat sad. Plus Frederica's character wasn't give much importance or developed and only her relationship with shin is shown. And her mascot role was very little.

Technically all of the episodes of this anime that are currently so far are all considered to be season 1. It's just that the entire season divided into two parts.

@@GreatChickenGod Well I can tell you for certain that the story of this anime is far from over. The anime has currently only covered 2 volumes of the Light Novel source material and still has 9 more volumes left to cover. Not to mention that the Light Novel of this anime is still ongoing.

That's more the newer Gundam series anyways. Older series, anything super powerful had a devastating drawback, psycho frame eats the pilot/Gundam X main cannon only powered with the moon and tends to cause a mental breakdown of the user's friends/EVERYTHING involving cyber-newtypes/etc.

No, the Juggernauts aren't in any way advanced. They're only armed with 57mm autocannons and 12.7mm machine guns, has bare minimum avionics, absolutely no safety features, and it has no armor that even freaking shrapnel can pierce through the hull. They were described as coffins many times in the series. Heck, the other countries had way better mechs than the ones the 86 use. The Reginleif was the Federacy's own take of the Juggernauts, and those have significantly better performance, armaments and survivability. And even then, they're still considered unsafe by the Federacy's standards and has an extremely high learning curve to master.
