MAAD City is a song that takes place after Kendrick is jumped by two gang bangers (he was set up by this girl he's been tryna fuck, Sherane). The MAAD City song encapsulates the absolute madness of Compton, which is represented as pure paranoia in the song. That's why the beat is very unnerving and Kendricks voice sounds highly paranoid as if he's going through a nightmare

@ 12:00 when Kendrick’s voice gets deep and satanic that represents people seeing Kendrick the supposed “good kid” as actually capable of killing someone at 16yo. So instead of seeing him as a good kid ppl start seeing him as a monster with the satanic voice. And then it gets higher pitched cuz you remember it’s just Kendrick and he really is a good kid, he just seen some shit

Grand Guru they’re two different rappers, they make different music, Kendrick makes music that’s more important, Cole makes more Coherent songs that everyone can relate to. They’re difficult to compare, it’s more preference
