This is another tribute video to my favorite Hollywood couple, Elizabeth Taylor & Richard Burton. It is set to the song "You're my everything" by Santa Esmeralda. :)
This video is dedicated to my friend Tess who is also a fan of Elizabeth & Richard and who suggested that I'd use this song for a video about them. I hope you'll like it. :)

It is my humble opinion that Elizabeth Taylor loved this man beyond words! When she looks at him it's like dreamy eyes! The 2 of them are (were) so incredibly beautiful.

He was charismatic, she beautiful, and their relationship was tempestuous to say the least. She was a Pisces, he a Scorpio, and the water element attracted deeper than just looks. Undoubtedly he thought she was beautiful, but he loved her as a person not an actress, and she was clearly besotted with him. He was an alcoholic, she had problems with constant back pain from a fall from a horse during the making of National Velvet which may have led to painkiller addiction throughout her life. She cared about people, especially the young who didn't have her advantages, and he was there for support and advice. The love affair of the 20th century. Without a doubt.

That is beautiful and you are so right. He loved her beyond the beauty. He called her "ocean"" because of her depth. She adored him and it is very evident when you see the pictures of her when she is looking at him. What an extraordinary love story. The most beautiful I have ever heard.

Dame Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor, DBE (born 27 February 1932), also known as Liz Taylor, is an English-born British-American actress. She is known for her acting skills and beauty, as well as her Hollywood lifestyle, including many marriages. . She has survived the 40's, 50's, and 60,s of film making, of fame. Two days before he died he wrote a letter to Elizabeth and told her, home was where she was and he wanted to come home. She didn't receive it until she came back from his funeral. Sally was kind and helped him with his health. He told Elizabeth that he wasn't unhappy, but he had been happiest with her. When she gave his diary to be published that was very unselfish of her, because his diaries were full of his love for Elizabeth. So I don't dislike her. I kind of feel sorry for her.

U R quite right Karin as Cleopatra was originally scheduled for two 3 hour long films.....but Darryl Danuck who was head of 20th Century Fox then, said it was too long and cut it down to one 4 hour epic. I saw the original 4 hour version and have it now on Blue Ray....the colours on it are stunning especially ET on her barge...Not long after the London premier Zanuck even choppped out more of the film so it could be shown more times in a theatre and so gaining more audience and money. I have seen some of the m issing scenes, especially ETs first entrance in Cleo which was set at her camp when in exile. Also, another great scene in the forum was of the elephants parade and Burton pulling off one of the female riders and the large serpant entering the forum....plus other scenes which were equally stunning as the sets and costumes. I hoped the whole film would have been put back together by now......still hopeing.

I have also got a reel to reel tape recording of" Elizabeth Taylor in London", which was a TV programme aired only once on BBC Tv in the 60s. I also have the full music score on vinyl by John Barry. I have seen on U Tube a short section of this hour long documentary film and tried to find who has it now or where it is but cannot get very far other than being told it is now in private hands....This film, like the film "The V.I.Ps." was made not long after Cleo in the 60s. Cleo film was originally made in Pinewood, with Peter Finch as Ceasar and Stephon Boyd as Antony but but due to the awful British weather, cold and rain, they had to keep cancelling and it caused ET to have her near death experience of which they had to call out the Queens own personal doctor who put a tube in her neck so she could breath through as almost died. She then recouperated in LA and then started filming Cleo all over again but this time in Italy with new director and stars etc.....Its all a fascinating history even today and there is no truth in the story that Cleo almost bankrupted the studio and they had to sell of the backlot. They were doing this anyway before Cleo even did one days filming....such is Hollywood fables...lol

I wish there were videos like this of Ava Gardner! The alcoholism destroyed their relationship. It always does! Begins fun and cute. Then always goes bad. Always....

I agree with you about that alcohol seems to be the reason they couldn't make their marriage work. I think if they had both sobered up at the same time they would have made it. Also as for Ava Gardner, I did make a video about her movie "Mogambo" that you can find on my channel.

@Karsch100 I have seen 3 of the movies they made together; Cleopatra, The Sandpiper, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf. I LOVED Cleopatra and The Sandpiper. I can't wait to see the others! Also I just got the book Furious Love and I'm getting ready to read all about them. I love your videos! I love watching them together and seeing those looks that they shared, and the passion you can see, and that you can only imagine. Wow!.

Maybe it's just me but her eyes looked more vibrant when her skin is darker compared to when she had pale skin. I know I have a disorder bc I never tire of watching Liz & Dick.

Interesting observation. Maybe there's a bigger contrast with tanned skin and blue eyes. Also I can rewatch their movies over and over too and more often fan videos. Thanks for watching and commenting by the way.

@@Karsch100 I read and re-read the Richard Burton Diaries. I love it. I liked Furious Love as well. I also have the absolutely adorable book she wrote when she was 14 called Nibbles and Me. Also Meeting Mrs. Jenkins, by Richard is a great story about when he first met Elizabeth. He could be quite funny.
