Elizabeth Taylor's external beauty would take your breath away, those eyes. But I do believe she was a kind compassionate woman who'd done a lot for various charities. That being she was also a good humanitarian despite being plagued with health problems. I think that she was a courageous woman. R.I.P. Dame Elizabeth.

This BBC tribute to Elizabeth Taylor is something I discovered as an offering for my partner who has difficulty expressing emotionally and sexually. My premise for resolving this issue is that to understand how to love one need understand hate as well! To really understand joy one needs to KNOW (not necessarily experience) sorrow as well. No scientist has been able to define the dividing line between pleasure and pain. There is a very fine line between the AGONY and the ECSTASY. (I can attest to this in my near-death experience as I lay in a warm pool of my own blood!) Much like the "fight or flight" response these virtues/curses seem to originate in similar locations within our selves...of course enhanced or suppressed by individual experience and memory. Elizabeth's life reflects all of this as well as the struggle for self-hood... which she maintains throughout her acting career. Yet she manages to focus all the extreme experiences into one of the greatest feats of her life: The betterment of others whom have been unnecessarily maligned by society at large!!!! Elizabeth has demonstrated for us how a life where all-the-above-is-inclusive-and-no-one-aspect-is-exclusive is the life worth living! She demonstrated this most with the tempestuous love affair and two marriages with Richard Burton. As you will see in this video "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" is about as close to a reality picture of the love/hate extremes of a real-life relationship. Perhaps shocking at first but explores what we often do to each other within intimate relationships... or perhaps WHAT WE HOLD INSIDE OF OURSELVES UNTIL IT TEARS US APART! When Elizabeth was near death she visited England where royalty had placed a bust of Richard Burton for public display. Her frail body in a wheel chair bent over wiping a continuous flow of tears. Earlier in her life when it became impossible to maintain her own sanity she divorced Richard 1974 and 1976 remarriage and second divorce 8 months later. Of course this is not an example of how "us lowly mortals" should live but to demonstrate that to understand love and passion we need to understand how to deal with hate and anger as well! Richard died, age 58, August 5, 1984. She loved him both before and after his death. And to add further to her sorrow Rock Hudson died of AIDS a year later at age 59. The passion and love for both these men led her to begin a campaign that would give the world a new life where so many superstitious peoples would have it taken away!!! None of us can claim to know TRUE LOVE and PASSION without first giving visitation for HATE, SORROW, PAIN and even AGONY! This is another legacy that Elizabeth has left us!

I was SCHOCKED .. a swift History Lesson followed. I told her that Ms Taylor was the Prettiest Star in the world ... that she was only catching the tail end of a Great Legends life & that one day if she were lucky she too would age. Liz was fearless & her Aids work was Truly giving back ♡☆♡ .. Ms Taylor was in constant back pain her whole life since her fall while filming "National Velvet" at age 9 yrs old. She STILL powered forth with kindness for those whos lives caught fire with HIV & AIDS. Elizabeth Taylor was a real flesh & Blood Goddess. Thank You Ms Taylor for Helping so many

My Aunt and Uncle knew many of the great ‘A List’ old stars of Hollywood as my Uncle was the City Manager of Santa Monica for a long time ‘back in the day’. As far as Elizabeth Taylor was concerned my Aunt was always impressed with how kind she was and how well mannered. My Aunt also shared a little confidence builder to her daughter (my cousin) and to myself that I still remember today and teach my daughters. If someone is rude to you in a store or on the phone ask yourself ‘Would they treat Elizabeth Taylor this way?’. I guarantee you the answer is no.. no matter what you are doing. Keep going. Find a way. You don’t have to be rude or mean.. but honey ‘You ARE Elizabeth Taylor!’

It's a funny thing when my 1st granddaughter was about 2yrs old she would sometimes bump into things, and I would tease her and call her klutz, till I saw this documentary about Elizabeth Taylor being so accident prone, and I thought well maybe if Liz is like that, maybe my grand had some stardom in her too. After all, I thought my grand was the prettiest baby, in the world, as every grandma should feel about their grand. Lol. But Elizabeth Taylor had a beauty that came from within, and it just radiated to the outside. A natural beauty, good spirit, good heart, and the best part there was no vanity, about her. ✌

I will never forget the day she arrived at the Maharishi Ayurvedic Health Center in Lancaster, MA in the late 80's where I was managing the guest/staff kitchens. Dr. Deepak Chopra was in charge and he called me into his office wanting to discuss her diet. For a final celebration of her last night there, she requested I cater an Italian dinner party for her but, also, wanted me in attendance. What an honor. I recall upon her arrival, she was in pain and within one week of receiving panchakarma treatments, she bounced out of that place. She was very down to earth, extremely beautiful and truly did have violet eyes. I cherish the memory and often smile when I utilize the lovely lavender, monogrammed meditation shawl she gave me as a gift of gratitude.

🌺 Creatives with beauty, brains and so much more: * Elizabeth Taylor was certainly breathtaking, and her talents shine in a wealth of films. However, her most outstanding work was for social causes and healthcare -- people still benefit from her work today. 💕 * Hedy Lamarr was stunning, and she kept her looks through her later years. More importantly, Hedy was a BRILLIANT inventor. IMO, all her artistic and technical contributions place Hedy above most other female artists, then and now. 📚🙂 * Gina Lollobrigida was another artistic beauty, although, not as well known in the United States as in Europe. She became a photojournalist and had an impressive body of work. 📸 * Olivia de Havilland remained quite beautiful, intelligent, and sharp until her death at 104 years (July 1, 1916 ~ July 26, 2020). 💐 It is largely due to Olivia's integrity, strength and determination that artists were provided with improved conditions and no longer slaves of the studio system. 🙂 * Ava Gardner was gorgeous. She seemed to be typecast as a femme fatal too often... still... she worked in the film/tv industry for over 40 years. 📽 * Natalie Wood, one of the few child stars who enjoyed continued success as an adult... sadly, her sudden death (drowned) cut short her dreams. 🌊 * Audrey Hepburn -- quite lovely, and, proficient in both comedic and dramatic roles. The story of her childhood during WWII is incredible. My respect is heightened by her tireless work for animals and the environment. 💕🙂 * Helen Hayes was an attractive, petite firestorm of quality and talent in the theatre and film industry for decades! Elizabeth Taylor was the most beautiful actress I have ever seen in life…she was and is still my idol of Hollywood. Rest in Peace Dame Elizabeth

When she died, Time magazine devoted an entire magazine to her. That's something that's never been done. It was said that during the 1960's, she was the most famous woman in the World...more than Jackie O. When she died, I went to a magazine store and she must have been on every magazine on the shelf. The TV channels in the US had specials on her for almost a month. Then 6 months later, they're not even mentioning her anymore. But she had those legendary movies that will may her unforgetten as long as there are TV's and theaters. Like they say, that's Hollywood. Who's in today may not be in tomorrow...

Vette gaddia Elizabeth Taylor will always be “in”. That’s what being a timeless icon is all about. What Talent. What Beauty. What Wit. What Compassion. What Courage. She loved life and lived life on her own terms, and will never be forgotten. And we shall never see her like again. RIP Liz ❤️

@Herbie Shevers Yes, I thought it was too much for the Vatican to dare to come out and criticize Elizabeth. How dare they say anything?

@@non8236 if we’re just talking about women, I would say it’s the following: truly the pantheon: not just because of their acting chops but because of their power of celebrity: Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland,Katherine Hepburn, Bette Davis. They are all unique. there are others, but they are lesser versions of these outstanding women.

Only a truly beautiful woman can have the confidence to not look at the mirror and not think of herself as beautiful. Now that's true beauty.

A truly beautiful woman does not hurt other women, especially her best friend, by shagging her husband when her friend has just given birth to her first baby with him!....And if you think LIz Taylor never looked and admired herself in the mirror, putting on copious amounts of make-up to enhance it...then you are truly deluded!..

@@cellis3045 Yes, and it always irks me when people blame the whole thing on Eddie Fisher. Liz did not give two hoots about Debbie. What irked me as well was when SHE and DEBBIE were trashing Eddie in their older years. Damn women are tough sometimes! How could Debbie defend Liz Taylor in all that??
