Elizabeth Warren Destroys Janet Yellen Over JPMorgan's 'Living Will'

Chair of the Federal Reserve, Janet Yellen gave a tepid thumbs-up to the economic recovery while expressing disappointment and caution in the housing market, pledging to remain vigilant over asset bubbles. Yellen expressed confidence in her oversight of the 'mega banks' and was satisfied with their liquidity and liquidity requirements. To Warren's dismay, Yellen believes the fed has a firm grasp on oversight in the area of these financial firms.
However, some of the questioning got a bit more granular, as Democrat Senator from the State of Massachusetts, Elizabeth Warren questioned Yellen on whether ultra-large financial institutions ('too big to fail) remained a threat to the economy. She pointed out that JPMorgan Chase, for instance, has 3,391 subsidiaries - more than three times the number of Lehman Brothers when it ultimately collapsed and was not saved in the 2008 financial crisis.

I would also like to see her run but it will never happen. She will not be allowed to run. The MSM will bury her like they did with Ron Paul. She is our only hope, which just shows how hopeless our situation truly is. She is the only politician I have ever liked, or backed.

MetalDetroit Well, I belong to no party. But she is the first to truly stand up to these banking crooks and also make her fellow politicians squirm. She means what she says and is not putting on any anger; it's real. In truth, IMO the whole system needs to be scrapped at this point as it is nothing but filled with corruption, greed and, of course, nothing but rich people. :( We actually opened the door for people to sue predatory lenders back in 2006. I wouldn't be surprised if our case had crossed her desk at some point. And it turned out to be a settlement rather than going to court. Our lawyers got almost as much as we did, which was nowhere near enough to replace the house that was stolen from us. That is why she makes me feel proud when she puts pressure on the banking industry and the ludicrous bailout.

MetalDetroit Ted Cruz?????? OMG are you clueless. He is a lunatic who wants to make christianity our "national religion" by law as well as get rid of the EPA, minimum wages and give corporations freedom to do anything they want. We didnt get into anything by "tax and spend" who did that? The mess started with Nixon and continued with Reagan and GW Bush put the nail in the coffin. Republicans destroyed the economy so you need to get your facts in order dude. Cruz looks like Frank Burns from MASH and is hated by his own party. If the republican'ts hate someone in their own party you KNOW they are batshit crazy!

Umm... did the chair at the end give a wink and a "way to go" nod to the Fed Chair after that pathetic display of incompetence and admission of failure? Either you're doing the job and following the law or you're not. I don't give a fuck whether or not the poor little banks have a tough job to do. It's not your job to break the law to give them room to continually stonewall you with bogus plans and reports, which is exactly what's happening. Observe the law or get out. Jesus Christ. Is our system really this fucked?

The moderator's wink at the end says it all. Warren: The law says every year banks must say how they could be dissolved without a bailout or national crisis and the Fed pronounces their plan adequate or inadequate.. Yellen: I thought the law was that each year each bank sends 10,000 pages that nobody intends to read and the Fed doesn't approve or disapprove but provides 'feedback' e.g. "thanks!."

All in the hope we are moving in the direction we want to see our country go. Sanders stands on the issues the same as he has done for years. The democratic party is scared shitless of him. The news media is quiet as a church mouse about how well he is doing. I believe what he professes is what is best for the times we are in and what I see coming. By 2030 47% of all the jobs we have now will be gone. I truly believe the capitalist system will fight any suitable solution to that job loss. It's always heartening to see Liz go after the powers that be, but the way government works these days, the solution the banks will see is "We're having a hard time meeting the regulations of Dodd-Frank, so let's just get rid of Dodd-Frank.". And they go to all the politicians they've bought (read: 99.99 percent of them) and get them to gut the regulations they can't or don't want to follow.

I'm truly impressed by Sen, Warren and her expansive knowledge of the many areas on which I heard her speak. I, too, would support her for the position of U. S. President, but beware! Whomever I support never wins. One point of disagreement as to one remark: There is no Jewish conspiracy on Wall Street, or in any other place on this earth. I thought that ridiculous idiocy had died when the Allies won WWII. Thank you for allowing me to share my thoughts.

If the statute says that the FED has to state whether the plans are adequate or not and the FED is not doing that why isn't the FED forced to do that or the chairman should be called to explain why they are refusing to follow the statute. This is against the law.
