She is.... I am a democrat and pushing her to the front hurts the party and pisses me off. Most of her ideas are over the top and hurt poor people. Every thing is geared towards the upper middle class who make up her state. You think printing $1.8 trillion dollars right now is a good idea? I sure don't. It will drive inflation up further while the Federal Reserve is trying to get control. The interest rates on our debt are starting to climb pretty fast. If it gets to much higher it will become unsustainable (5% on the 10 year is considered to be unsustainable). So doing anything to drive inflation will cause interest rates to go even higher. It is absolutely ridiculous that any rational person would be proposing this right now. It will make houses more expensive, college more expensive, all credit....etc...... How about making school affordable for the next generation, how about actually raising taxes to take some of the money out of circulation.........how about acting like a leader and making a hard decision. Hand ups not hand outs

@gracebellamy586
@gracebellamy586 2 жыл бұрын
@@grahamshere Endorsing Biden rather than Bernie was unfortunately good sense. Bernie will never win the office of President, because he is too brusque and angry. Most Democrats are Centrist... they want someone who is reasonable-seeming, congenial, and knows the job. Bernie would be great at MOST of the job of President, but his manner is too brusque to succeed at one of the most important parts - representing the USA to the world. I adore Bernie, but I realize that he is not suited to diplomacy. His has a temper and lets it loose too often, and even when he isn't speaking from anger he SOUNDS LIKE he's angry! That's not his fault - it's the culture he was brought up in. But one of the major problems that Dumpy Donny Trumpy caused was a huge dip in our international reputation. Bernie didn't have the connections or the mannerisms to recapture that reputation, and Biden did. He already has scraped off most of the damage that Dumpy Donny did to our international reputation, because the leaders of other nations knew him from when he was VP, and he is congenial by nature and manner. That doesn't mean he can't GET mad, just that he is capable of not starting from that appearance. Bernie is GREAT as a Senator. He has great ideas and the ability to write proposals for laws well and clearly. He wants the best for people! He is forceful by nature and that is needed to stand up to the trumpublicans. Most especially, it is needed to stand up to people like the villainous Rick Scott, who wants to make the very poor pay taxes that they cannot afford to pay, and let the billionaires skate by as they have been, paying so little in taxes that it makes people angry! His "skin in the game" proposal would be the ruination of the lower class and put a huge burden on the middle class! Bernie KNOWS how dangerous that is to our economy and to individuals and he CARES about it! He is willing to stand up to Rick "Voldemort" Scott and work hard against such ludicrous and dangerous proposals! Bernie makes a MUCH better Senator than he would make a President BECAUSE of his personal mannerisms and his anger. And to many Democrats are just not going to vote for him. Most importantly, too many INDEPENDENTS are not going to vote for him. And that is a growing group in this country right now... growing by leaps and bounds. I love Bernie. I believe he has our best interest at heart as a Nation and as individuals. I just don't think that he is capable enough of the compromise that is needed to do the primary job of President in the current situation, and compromise is an essential skill for a President. Compromise draws laws closer to the middle of the road, where most of us live. Given the choice between endorsing Bernie and endorsing Biden - who had a reputation for being someone who KNEW the people involved in international rule, and for being someone who could draw people together and compromise - I think that Elizabeth Warren made the right choice. As a candidate, Bernie would have pushed Moderate people away from the Democratic party. The Democrats needed EVERYONE they could get backing them to win. Elizabeth Warren is nothing if not practical. SHE would have made a great President. I hope that she gets an opportunity to be President - we NEED a woman in that office for a change. But that wasn't going to happen that time. If Bernie had dropped out and slung his support behind Elizabeth - which he didn't - we might have had a female President for the first time in history. So instead of blaming Elizabeth for not endorsing Bernie, how about realizing that Bernie would have meant another four years of Trump, most likely, and Bernie didn't endorse Elizabeth either! It's time to stop being "Team Bernie" and start realizing that voting is a Civic Duty that all Americans have, and that holding a grudge over someone's choice of endorsement - so long as they do so for the right reasons - is just part of the "organized nastiness" that a lot of die-hard Bernie supporters are still being blamed for. Reactions like writing "if you don't know, it doesn't matter to you." instead of answering the Terri Morris' question is part of the reason that Bernie and his supporters still have the reputation for temper. And we've had someone with a horrible temper in the office. It didn't work out. We need CALM and REASON in our Presidency. I hope you can understand.

Senator Warren is exactly right on the value of education. See Margerie Taylor Green and Lauren Boebert. Education is so important 👏. Another factor that we absolutely HAVE to understand about student loans is that the entire student loan industry is inherently predatory. Everyone is pushed to apply for a loan, even at the smallest amounts, to make up for whatever grants and scholarships cannot cover. It's an alliance between the schools and the lenders to drive as much lending as possible, and students who have no other way of funding their education are up the creek without a paddle. Student loans should be the absolute LAST resort, but they're MADE to be necessary by the practice of overcharging for education and underfunding other options. That is predatory, and it MUST be made illegal.

The only reason I didn’t go through with college was the clearly obvious crippling debt and lack of jobs during the Bush recession: 14K a year. If I would have known they would cancel debt I would have stuck it out. I STILL want them to cancel the debt. Now I run a small business and I saw a huge boom on a measly stimulus, imagine all that debt wiped away and the boom it would create even for those not paying student debt. A complete rearranging of college systems and maybe some of us would go back in our spare time without fear.

This has become an epidemic with many areas such as Big Oil, Health Care Industry and Food producers. Corporate welfare and Wealth inequality took off light a rocket ship and has not looked back. Reagonomics is responsible for outsourcing our jobs out of this country. They changed the trade laws to benefit corporation and hurt the American worker. I went to one of Reagans speeches and he said it is a world economy now and the American workers need to train for the jobs of the future. Unemployment jumped high and the were giving out grants for school. So, We went to college and received the training for the future jobs promised. Guess what happened next. Those jobs were also outsourced. Reagan relaxed the southern borders so cheap labor could come in and break unions. I laugh when I hear Republicans talking about the border because it was them that allowed the borders open to drive wages down and start the war on the middle class.

Every little bit helps but $10k is a pittance. $50k is better and all of it is the best. Regardless of the amount, we need to address why the cost of education is so exorbitant. When I went to a state university in the 70’s the tuition was $300/semester. 25 years later in the early 2000’s my son paid $2000/semester at the same university. By 2009 the tuition was $5000/semester and currently it’s $10k/semester AT A STATE UNIVERSITY!!! Part of the increase at this particular university is due to the huge ego of the university president who is more interested in his “legacy” than providing an affordable, quality education.

My son went to college " out of state" because the college he went to offered courses he was studying that he couldn't get in his home state! They charged him almost twice as much to go there because he didn't " live" there, even though my wife and I got him an off campus apt. with a local mailing address! I believe it is unfair and predatory for universities to charge students extra to attend schools that are better fitted to their career goals than the ones who are less than capable closer to home! He left his family, his friends, and his whole environment to go out and start over, and we knew it wasn't going to be easy for him, but we supported him through regular phone calls, and trips several times a year for visitations, and bringing him home for holidays and breaks! His student loans interest hit him this year when he filed his first tax return, and he was hurt that they took two thirds of his tax rebate for interest on the loans! I had to tell him that the money they took was only interest that didn't reduce the amount he owes at all, and that if Biden is unable to pass a bill to reduce or eliminate part, or all of his debts, that he would probably not get any tax returns for at least a decade! A painful conversation to have with your child who pinned his dreams on his education, but a necessary and realistic approach!

@@beverly719 What you said is true, and many of us know people like that. Superbly talented and still struggling. Thinking about that, I came to realize that it is people who are only interested in the money or the control that drive the music industry. In the early to mid 60’s, music producers went looking for anybody young (say, under 25) that could sing and hold a guitar properly, hoping to groom them into “the next Dylan.” As a result of the flow of funds into diverse directions, there was later an explosion of musical groups, big advances in music technology, etc. More amazing music was made in 8 years or so, than we’ve seen any time before or after. It is also interesting that there is evidence for involvement by Tavistock and shadowy Western “Intelligence” groups in the music industry at that time. This evidence applies particularly to the Beatles (Tavistock) and the Laurel Canyon groups (see Dave McGowan). A major Western Intelligence agency is known to have been responsible for the wholesale distribution of LSD in America. Our “heroes” who “liberated” the millions of very pure trips were working for Langley. One of those agents traveled with the Grateful Dead to distribute at their shows. The electric kool aid acid tests were black ops. Spooky. Anyway, in the 60’s, it looks like talent was nice, but close relations in “intelligence” was the deal closer. IMO. So it was more about power over people’s thoughts and emotions rather than just about the money. No one minds all those green pieces of paper piling up, but it may be more than that now.

I was disappointed when she dropped out of the presidential run. I was very enthused that she might have been the first female president. I preferred her over Biden or Hilary Clinton. You don't see or hear much in the way of forward thinking and the majority of the Democratic party seem to be content with maintaining the status quo. The only hope is with the Progressives to move the country in a positive direction, but they are being attacked on the Republican side and marginalised on the Democratic side. It must be incredibly frustrating to any of these individuals who watch as the country slips from the hands of the mediocre and into the iron fist of the burgeoning authoritarian movement. We need a third party. The two-party system has failed the American public. We are sadly forced to choose between the lesser of two evils. I didn't like Clinton and opted not to vote for either. But after one term with Trump I couldn't add my own little vote for Biden as a big FU to this wannabe king. I hope someone runs against Biden.

Education isn't all about only the higher education institutions, but many who can't attend the ivy league colleges are driven to learn or improve new and existing skills that the technological boom is quickly outpacing our ability to keep adapting to the newer products and ideas! Auto and A.C. technicians are prime examples, as well as the more technological manufacturing processes and machinery in use today!

Kevin McCarthy really messed up if he draws the ire of Senator Elizabeth Warren! Elon Musk, she is not done with you either.... 🤷

BTC, congrats for getting these great leaders on your show. Your voice has been the best and so important esp considering the state of our union where one party is obstructing justice and spewing lies. I've been a republican all my life but not anymore.

This would be life-changing for many young Americans who are struggling to pay off their student loans, including my daughter. I am hoping and praying that the Democrats for once will do something good for these young folks.

Income determined repayment plans don't make the loan go away... If they determine you can pay $20 a month... That doesn't pay the interest. You end up paying forever. If 400 a month was normal, and a 5 years... A person paying 100 would take 20 years to pay the same amount... The poor person will end up paying more, 20 years of interest is much more then 5 years. They need to freeze the interest or cap it if they are doing this... Or forgive it.
