Interestingly enough, I was actually inspired to pick this up after watching your vid on the Cat synth and realising that I needed a polyphonic semi modular in my collection (Cat is essentially a poly ARP 2600 which i already have, also from Cherry Audio). Love the sound, it's a little dark and very tasty. Cherry Audio rules 🤘🏾

Hello Paul As you mention in the video, Cherry Audio does a lovely job of recreating vintage synth. I do not know how close to the original synths they sound because I never owned one before, except Juno 106, I must say I like what they do at this price point. I'm not saying I can't squeeze equivalent sounds out of other plugins, but for me today it's simply TAL Software and Cherry Audio - doing what I want them to do: deliver great analog-sounding quality synthesizer plugins at an attractive price and not on a rental model. Cherry Audio, above all, delivers incredible presets, which alone adds a lot of value to this synthesizer. I think, this emulation of the Elka Synthex is the coolest tool at the moment. I agree with your assessment.

i like Elka X, it sounds very deep and analog, I like to emulate sound from my favorite songs, so far I could recreate very very close and easy, sounds from Oxygene IV, the main lead sound, The introductiory lead in Aurora from Nova, and a lead from Vangelis in The sword of Orion, it sounds very rich and deep

You say that you have a powerful computer - would you be able to do a short video of the comparison between a small selection of different types of patch sounds (bass , pad , lead) with different "Q" quality settings to see if the oversampling makes any difference? My laptop is quite old now so I struggle to play the highest Q setting.

Two points: 1. The original Synthex didn't have an arpeggiator, just a sequencer. 2. You can remove the questionmark from the title of the video, it's ok, no one will mind.

Could you try Arturia ms-20 vs Cherry ps-20 - perhaps make a comparison video?

And over to the big one, Ozone 10 right around the corner, I only trust your ears on this one. Are you able to get some kind of early access?

Sounds like every other modern emulation.. good enough, but can't catch the character, weight and nuances of the original.

I tried all the cherry stuff. To me it has the same quality of the old Arturia v series, very flat and uninspiring. Not bad sounding by any means but if you already have a decent soft synth save your money.
