2024 Always followed Elkie. Fabulous singer but even better live. I've been fortunate enough to see her live many times.

Listening in August ‘23 still sounds amazing

Almost 74 years old and this is the first time I've heard this song on 9*1*1. Absolutely moving. Elkie Brooks' voice is amazing.

Elkie is one of the best singers this country has ever produced. This is my favourite song of hers. Total class.

I just got back from seeing Elkie live for the first time, I was prepared for a bit of wear and tear in her voice I WAS WRONG!!!!, she was absolutely, unbelievably, superb as was her band, if you get the chance you should try to get a ticket to see her during the rest of her tour.

Always adored this beautiful, haunting song! I was 10 years old when it charted in 1978. That singular, gentle oboe on the courus still sends shivvers down my spine, as does the sparkling quality of Elkie's gorgeous voice. Weird thing is a grew up to be a Metal head & techno lover. Elkie had such elegance & class. Lovely memories!

Jeff Buckley brought me here . But i remember this version as a kid , She also knocked this song out of the park , what a voice and version of this song .

One of the very few who can deliver a cover version a thousand miles ahead of the original. I saw her live in performance only a few years ago (I'm writing in 2021) and she was wonderful, completely technically excellent, but, most importantly, she delivered every emotional moment as she always, always, does.
