DIY How To Lighten or Darken your eyebrows - The Salon Method

In this video DIY tutorial I'll show you how to easily lighten or darken / tint your brows from home. It is so simple to do yourself with these easy steps! No need to see a salon for such an easy task. I go ahead and show you on myself how to do either method. Whether you want darkening or lightening to your eyebrows. I will show you bot methods at once leaving me with two very miss-matched brows lol. Hope this helps. Please leave me any questions you may have, please subscribe if you haven't yet! For Lightning / Bleach
You will need:
www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/produ...
1. mix equal amounts of both powder and developer
2. Apply generously to the eyebrow, making sure to completely saturate all little brow hairs.
3. Let process for about 5-7 minutes. (may need a few more mixture for excessively dark hair)
4. Wipe off ad make sure to wash area with a mild cleanser. Make sure to remove all product.
5. You're done! Enjoy your new light brows!
For Darkening/ Brow Tint
You will need:
level 6N or (5N extra dark) color gel- I used Redken. You can use any brand. And a processing solution. (not a cream developer)
1. Apply equal parts color and processing solution
2. apply to the eyebrows making sure to saturate all little brow hairs.
3, make sure not to let product sit on the skin, if you get some on the skin make sure to wipe off any product off the skin.
4. Let process for about 5 minutes.
5. Wipe off comepletely.
6. All done, ENjoy your new Bold tinted brows!

A good rule of thumb, for those not sure whether they need lightning or darkening... Brunettes look good with brows about 1 shade lighter than the hair. Blondes look good with brows about 2 shades darker than their hair.

I can't believe I'm just discovering you and your videos. I have curly coarse hair, not sure if that's why going to a blonde has been more difficult than others with straight dark hair to blonde, but patience is key. I've seen your other videos, my hair has yellow, but its still more brassy, not straight orange, just very brassy. I guess what a more brassy strawberry blonde would be, I did two bleachings, a month apart. I'm thinking of lighting again, would using a 20 or 30 work, as long as I maybe use a very light color like ash blonde or lighter, (or) should I just do another bleach process to get it lighter. the first time I bleached, it was way brassier so I toned, but some hair toned and some stayed brassy. I know you mentioned a picture is better but I didn't see an email.

If I lived in SF id definitely trust you with my hair, here in Chicago, I've already had 3 salonists that ruined my hair, one turned it green and the others turned it more red and then purple once. So I am very skeptical of someone doing my hair correctly. :(

i just lightened my eyebrows and i love it! my eyebrows were really dark (pretty much black) so lightening them gave my face a softer look. Also my hair is dyed to a medium brown and my eyebrows were way to harsh for it

This is wonderful, I went platinum blonde/near white recently and I wanted to remove the contrast of my really dark black-ish eyebrows. I was nervous they'd turn out orange, but seeing as it does pull without too much, I'll just leave it in longer or do the process a couple times. Thanks a bunch!

Hi there. Thanks for the video :) Just wondering if using hair dye on the brows makes them coarse or brittle and if it works well? I'd like to try using the redken. I'm a redhead with blonde brows and it's hard for me to find eyebrow dye that isn't too dark. I might try a redken colour in a dark blonde.

I have white eyebrows and have never dyed my brown hair on my head before, but I have thought about dying my eyebrows. Also I don't wear a lot of make up, even though I'm almost 30. So the thought of dying them is a scary one but would seem more cost effective and less work in the long run for good periods of time. Aka, I wouldn't have to draw on browse everyday or look odd when I would/wouldn't wear makeup because it would be semipermanent. Thanks for your video, it was really great and interesting. Ps- do you know how long dye last on your brows? Also it seems like you're two products would last for a long time so you wouldn't have to buy more, is that a good assumption?

Religious Beauty your eyebrows don't grow like the hair on your head. You can re lighten it if it does grow out darker eventually, but you probably don't have to even worry about it!

I actually like the fact that when I lighten my hair, I don't feel silly with leaving my eyebrows natural...my hair is probably about a level 6.5 and my eyebrows are an 8 or 9. Right now I've used a sun in hair lightener and my hair is mostly copper, but with a bit of a blonde tint, about a level or two lighter than my natural. To darken my eyebrows when I've darkened my hair in the past, I have used used a swatch of the demi/semi permanent dye on my brows that I used to darken my locks. That works as long as it's not a golden brown shade, because that just turns my eyebrows golden blonde! haha
