hagar2025 not just ocean I know of a few incidents that some glitter landed in kids eyes. Very dangerous! Needed surgery.

I love glitter. And it's a shame that most of the glitter produced is plastic based. However there are environmentally friendly alternatives. While biodegradable glitter and such can be harder to find, for those who love both glitter and the environment (like me), it's worth it.

Glitter is one of the many things on earth that makes me almost cry. When I'm even 10 feet from glitter I will find it everywhere and it takes literally a week to get off my body and out of my hair. And I found glitter from 2 years ago in living room. I literally almost cry everytime I see glitter

Glitter is incredibly bad, not only does it harm children if they get it in their eyes (some need surgery afterwards), but all of it ends up in the ocean. Since it is plastic based and plastic has harmful chemicals, it can destroy marine wildlife, for example contaminating good supplies and blocking their digestive system. At the moment we are in a huge plastic crisis, just search it up online and you’ll see why it’s considered to be a crisis by scientists. It’s a shame it’s still so hidden from general knowledge.

Anna, when you think of it, that is mainly the makeup glitter, hair spray, etc...stuff that gets overused and flushed eventually...NOT the little amounts of glitter you use to glitter people....that stuff is slight.... Besides you can get organic/biodegradable glitter...even Meadowbrook makes it now and they are the original company/largest glitter company... meadowbrookglitter.com/biodegradable-glitter/ Sorry Ellen, it is NOT going away!

One of the times I was in the hospital last year I had my craft stuff up with me as I was there awhile. The nurses and staff would laugh about all the glitter that could not be washed up. The floor was sparkly tho. 😍.

When my daughter was very young we called glitter Fairy Dust. Nowadays, I see many women that have a little sparkle "piece" on their cheek or shoulder or business suit, where there shouldn't have been any place they picked it up. It's too tiny for glitter so maybe it really is Fairy Dust....😜👍
