I feel like she’s so much like her character. She empowers people through the character, same as in real life. She speaks up about what she wants and what she believes and she acts upon it and I look up to that SO much. I hope that one day I can meet her or try to be at least a fraction of how brave she is ❤️ Don’t get it twisted. Ellen Pompeo seems like a great person but I don't agree with her views on asking Harvey Weinstein's victims to take some responsibility. Just because she had a nice civil chat with Weinstein during the day while she was in her mid to late 20s does not mean that (a) Weinstein did not find other actresses more attractive/docile, (b) 18-year olds who are trying to break into Hollywood would know that they can insist on meeting during the day and (c) anyone would know when a civil chat would turn violent or when light flirting would mean getting raped. I think she is saying that she is recognizing privilege without fully acknowledging her privilege.

I used to live next to Ellen in the hills above Franklin in Los Feliz. She makes the best Casamigos Negroni in town. Even better than Rande Gerber himself. I watched this with great interest because I wanted to see if, outside the all seeing Hollywood eyes, Ellen was as down to Earth as we are lead to believe. She made a few interesting statements, most noticeably the one about Patrick/Derek being her great love on the show and that he should not be forgotten or that any other male actor should replace him in her affections. There was then, in my opinion, a contradiction when she said she would happily pick up the phone and help any past cast members as she loved them all - so why, for the 300th promo did she not recognise that fans would be outraged that Patrick was not in a single clip of the promo after 11 seasons nor Katherine Heigl after 6 and TR Knight after 5? if she is so close to Shonda Rimes (who told Ellen ‘the show can come to it’s conclusion anytime she feels ready to end it’ ) did she not understand the importance of these omissions to dedicated fans? Patrick formed the backbone/foundation of GA’s success and all bad feelings and animosity aside (as the press has speculated) it was very poor form. My conclusion is she is perhaps not so down to Earth, although still likeable, but someone who likes to be in control and of number one importance.

I found this interview very strange, cause her views about balance, responsibility, accountability, genders, do not match today’s feminist ideology. They do not match the show after season 12. She says “it takes two to tango”, “I wouldn’t have walked into his office at night time”, that’s all anti feminism, and I agree w her. This constant demand for representation is revealed for what it is, special pleading when one looks at the viewership demographics of Grey's Anatomy, its overwhelmingly viewed by women. But this is the thing, this also applies to the rest of network tv, where men have simply abandoned tv in general while total viewership of the networks continues to shrink. I'm not sure its something to brag about that women are wasting more time watching mindless entertainment. Its become clear that middle aged female protagonist tv has become pervasive, so its time to stop acting like this is a surprise or a new achievement. Why certain stories don't work with each gender isn't something Hollywood really wants to answer. Jordan Peterson and such have answers, which should be obvious but aren't anymore because of the pervasive denial of reality we have today. I mean just look at the whole "metoo" thing, it should be glaringly obvious "these men" didn't learn it from others, they are your men, they are the lefts male feminist men, fully indoctrinated in and repeating your lines, so you can't claim there isn't "education". One should question what types have been attracted to this profession, and with their highly tribalistic and nepotistic tendencies, what have they actually selected for.
