I'm hesitant to even comment. Of course, I don't wear pixies and I know variances are the norm, however, those two are not the same color. Ellen Wille's irritating habit of changing the same color based on the style is, to me, just downright nuts. Color choice is hard enough, probably the most difficult of all of wig wearing, but frankly, this makes it impossible. I'm also seeing defects being excused as variances in brands about which I formerly had nothing bad to say, sadly. Variance is expected in mild doses, but the differences in those two colors, not one, but two colors called by the same name, are beyond the pale. I feel like our choices are being taken from us and the prices they charge for their "mystery colors" are getting into the stratosphere, beyond the budgets of a huge number of customers. No matter what, you look lovely in both colors, but to me, this much "variance" is inexcusable. Rant over! You are doing a service by calling attention to this madness, of course.

Thank you for the commentary! I can see a variance in the highlight pattern based on what style the color is applied to, but you’re right, this is a completely different color altogether. I’m trying to find out if it’s mislabeled but I don’t think so because neither of the other grays offered actually feature a root. I would love to have hope they could gain more consistency in color, style, etc , but the problem seems to have worsened in recent years. Blessings! 🥰🥰🥰

Thanks for the update. It is a great style on you , especially in Champagne Rooted.. I had heard that EW colors varied from style to style, but with this much difference,, I think they need to have a different name. In Atlanta, almost every third street is named Peachtree and my daughter wondered if they understood exactly why streets were given names in the first place.

I was made to wear short hair all my life…..I have a very long neck. So now that I wear wigs, and my bio hair is now down past my shoulders, I choose to wear long . You look great in short Taz! 🌸

Taz this happened to me i ordered my favorite wig and was shocked at the difference! And loved it ! The density was perfect the wave was amazing and i wish they all came that way. Even the cor was different! I will never send it back as a mistake,i wish they used it as a model for all that style. Sometimes you have to just agree with Bob Ross..its not a mistake "it's a happy accident 😂,".

I just saw a scathing review from a wig shop owner on Elan! I like (not love) my Elan. I think it’s cute. But this woman had received several complaints from online buyers and so she got one herself to see and try. Wow! She went so far as to tell everybody who bought Elan to call them and they’d send prepaid postage and not charge restocking fee! Go figure!

Just got Relax in two colors. I agree with you on the lighter density, light fiber and less volume. I had hoped my 2 were more full like your first two Relax’s. While I love this style, I will just keep one; getting volume will take some product. Also, the fit seems smaller than usual for EW.

I am glad you mentioned the difference in density between the Sandy Blonde Rooted vs Champagne Rooted. My Champagne Rooted has very fine fibers & not enough body in the front- it wants to lay down too much 🙁

Love the Champagne Rooted just a little afraid it won't be this color on the piece I would get. Colors are so hard already. Thank you Taz you always tell us so much that we need to know. You look beautiful in them all. I love the long wigs and I have a few. That being said I do go more for the short ones because they are so much easier to care for and I love how easy they are to put on and out the door. I have it in the Metallic blond rooted. Expected a color more like the Elan you showed. I wear fashion grays, but will not wear this one. I reviewed it, and within about two hrs of wearing, the cap and lace began to unravel at the seam on the side..no adhesives used etc. No sign of this upon review, however, the seams in that area are very stiff and too thick. I am child sized in all measurements, so it was not over stretched. The color was too contrasting and I see no hint of a sandy blond in it, purely void of a color..just a whitish with a very black root, but not quite as long as your root is.

I ordered mine as metallic blonde, it is definitely not blonde, it’s kind of like yours only not quite as blue. I really love it this way. Had I not seen the color, I would not have gotten a blonde! Yours is much more blue.

I know that EW gives the disclaimer that the recipe is different for different styles even though they are using the same colors. I can’t see where that is true this time. Easy fix: give that color on Relax a new name. Truth in advertising is crucial to maintain trust and return business. Having said that, you look beautiful in all three colors, whatever they want to call them. It’s a really cute style.

I ordered Relax in Snow Mix. When I received it, I thought surely it was defective as you could clearly see the wefting on the top of the wig. I posted pictures on the FB group and many said it truly looked defective. I returned it promptly and WS1 said it was not defective, that on certain styles if you order a white or really light color, the wefting will show and they did refund me less the restocking fee. I love WS1 and am not at all complaining. I have since ordered Relax in another color (not white) and am very, very happy with it! But I did see the wig I returned on the clearance page and hope the person who received it isn't disappointed, as it is not returnable.

I just watched Denise Sheets review of this same wig, Relax in the Metallic Blond Rooted and her wig in that same color was just like yours. The Champagne Rooted was the only acceptable color for me. The Sandy Blonde Rooted seems way too yellow, imo. But, you can carry all three of them beautifully. I agree, with the price of wigs soaring, now isn’t the time that manufacturers should be messing with such extreme color variances!!

I have the Sandy blonde rooted and it’s nothing like this one. This one is yellow to me and mine is more ashy. I just ordered it in the same color and am hoping it doesn’t turn out to be yellow or I’ll be sending it back.

I do have this style in the platinum blonde rooted. Mine has a hint of blue, just a tiny bit. Yours is really blue! I like it! If you want to sell it just let me know. That's so weird. I own the metallic blonde rooted in Relax and it's not blueish at all. It's more white silver platinum. More Similar to my pearl blonde rooted girl mono, but more silvery. I wish I could post my picture. I love this wig. I had to double check my color after watching this and yes I definitely have Metallic Blonde Rooted. Lol Thanks for the review. 😊

I have Relax in Metallic Blond Rooted and it isnt near as blue as yours. Mine is more gray. I ordered a second one. Its on backorder but I sure hope its not as blue as yours. Maybe its just the lighting that makes it have the blueish tint.

Well, all I can say is it's a good thing you can rock BLUE-GRAY. :o) I've been thinking to myself, well, probably ever since I started investing in wigs, this is ridiculous. We should at least be able to depend on the COLOR being the same. In fact, I had some question about color to ask you, but now I can't remember it - ha! I am a pixie wig wearer. I ordered Elan and unfortunately, I did not like it. There were so many hairs that stood up no matter what I did. I put it in a box and forgot about it. I then mistakenly ordered another one and had the exact problem with it. I donated both wigs. Sometimes a particular wig just doesn't work. I'm glad you were happy with yours.

Taz! Thank you. I ordered this in Champagne Rooted with a Large Cap. I received it and fell so in love with it I was thinking of getting at least one more. Now I’ll pass. Mine has great density, gorgeous color and anything significantly different in terms of the color I’m use to seeing my Ellen Willie’s in, and/or the fit and density would make me unhappy. I expect some mild variances. I’m use to that. But what I saw in this video saved me the disappointment! I’ll stick to the one I’ve got now! ❤

Hi @tazswigcloset New to your channel and wigs, I’ve been viewing some of your older videos, and I came across a two year old video of an Ellen Willa pixie, called “Link”. Well, because of your review and how cute the wig looked on you, Link ended up being my very first higher end wig purchase. I had been researching wigs for months, buying and trying on at least twenty (yes, that many) inexpensive wig styles to get an idea of what styles would work for me. I’ve since returned some and donated others. My bio hair is very thin, white, worn in a pixie, and my stylist even suggested I begin looking into wigs. It’s been quite a journey to finally find my very first perfect wig, but I just wanted you to know that it worked out beautifully. I even wore the wig out to dinner, that’s how confident I felt. I appreciate the comparisons. I do have Relax in Metallic Blonde Rooted, and it is a wild departure for me in color. However, the color of mine looks nothing like yours; mine is more gray/blonde, I see no blue in mine at all. I held up my Relax in MBR against a wig I have in silver stone, and with the exception of Relax's very dark rooting, the colors appear somewhat similar. I hope EW takes note of your video and responds to you, but I doubt that would happen. Keep educating us, Taz! Many thanks!

I ordered the Relax in Metallic Blonde Rooted based on my experience with Elan in the same color. I am HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED in this color. It is downright UGLY on me and now I’m stuck with it!

I have had to send 3 Ellen Wille wigs back due to errors in manufacturing. Do you suppose that the variance in colors and the damages in wig construction are due to a lack of quality control? I'm not bad-mouthing the brand; I've just never had this problem with other wig brands.

I wish I had an answer. Ellen Wille should stand by their product and if they get enough returns, it may encourage them to step up quality control or lose buyers. With rising costs of everything, I think companies want to preserve their margins by using less expensive supplies and labor and increasing consumer prices. This can make a perfect storm for quality issues. This is a guess, however. 💛

Very cute Taz but even the Sandy blonde rooted looks different than usual.( It seems more yellow.). I purchased EW Sound in Sahara Beige Rooted and liked it enough to buy another in Champagne rooted. The champagne had totally different fibers-lighter and not as curly. I love Ellen Wille but I don’t know what’s going on with them.

Um that's a blue wig lol A very cute blue wig but it's blue. I'm not playing with my money. All these types of things are going back. Missing hair? Going back. Wefts showing? Going back. Blue masquerading as blonde? Going back. Money is tight for everyone. They need to get it right or they'll end up losing more money in returns. People won't put up with this forever. There's a lot of people out there "robbing Peter to pay Paul" and this kind of thing isn't going to fly. That being said you're adorable in all of them! Thank you for this video! ❤

I have Relax in Metallic Blonde Rooted also and have Elan in the same color. I agree Taz, they are not the least bit alike. The color in Elan I wished was more gray, to me it looked blonde. So I love the silver in Relax, but that root is SO dark. I have tried to lighten it a bit with Loreal root spray, the one designed for light blondes whose roots are showing. It does lighten the roots, but makes them blonde. Wish I could find a silver root spray that would lighten the roots. I am wearing my Relax a lot though because I love the style and the comfort! (Got the large and it is almost big on me but I love it!) It's a great wig, in my opinion, and my husband really likes it. But I just don't get Ellen Wille colors. Started writing this before I saw the entire video because it struck close to home and had to comment. But you asked about the blueish tint also, and mine doesn't look as blue as yours. You can see a trace of blonde in it, but the silver is very predominant and much much different than my Elan. And by the way, that Champagne Rooted looks spectacular on you! As someone else said, if I knew I would get the same I would order Relax in that color. I always love your reviews and your honesty, thanks Taz!

I had metallic blonde r on a different EW style when it first debuted and it looked like your original wig in this shade. The powder blue/gray w black roots is not right!

That certainly doesn’t look like any other Metallic Blonde Rooted that I’ve seen on any other Ellen Willie wigs! Has to be a miss labeled wig.😊

Wow…the Metallic Blonde Rooted on Relax doesn’t look correct. It’s not necessarily a bad color if you can wear it…and you can. But I can understand the disappointment. I do like love the Sandy Blonde Rooted and the Champagne Rooted. You look pretty in all three shades🤗

After watching this video.....I happened upon another wig channel who mentioned the same issue with the color Metallic Blonde Rooted looking totally different in color from one wig to another wig. She was bugged by the discrepancy!

I purchased this style in Pepper Mix. Loved the fit (Ellen Willie does not always fit my 22 in circumference) loved the style, ear tab fit and the color was perfect. Had to send back as defective due to a piece in the front that stand straight up and looks to be sewn on the wrong side. I was so disappointed! The quality seems to have gone downhill 😢

Taz, I've looked at other reviewers feature this color on relax and it doesn't look blue on theirs. Have you been able to determine if this is indeed an anomaly?

My Relax in Metallic blond rooted has a black root, with totally white hair, no discernible blond or warmth in it period. I have very cool undertones but thid is too cold for me to even wear. I am afraid to order that color ever again in any EW wig. Sadly!

I see no blonde in the metallic blonde rooted. It looks like a blue/gray. Nice with your eyes but not blonde at all.

I saw another reviewer reviewing Relax in this color and I made a comment if it looked that blue in real life or if it was just on camera. I don't believe I got a response. But this is going to keep me from ordering it in that color... I'm so disappointed too. EDIT: I just watched another review of this wig in the same color and it was not blue ish in fact it looked just like your Elan wig color so now I'm beginning to wonder if some of the wigs are defective?

Yikes, cute style, but that Metallic blonde is too Smurf-ish for me and the rooting too dark. I've never claimed to be on the cutting edge of fashion so not the right audience for that color. I know some of you will rock the look!

Ich habe sie mit viel zu langen schwarzen Wurzeln. Ich hasse diese Perücke ein absoluter Fehlkauf . Relax ist schrecklich. Champagner mit schwarzen Roots. 😪😪😪😩😩😩😭😭
