The main character annoyed me too much to go through a whole book with her. And once I learned what the twist was I was so glad I didn't push through it. So disappointing because I really enjoyed The Silent Patient. Wish you had gotten to Survive the Night cause... You just wait.

Currently reading False Witness, I love KS but I'm having a rough time to start with this one. However your review is motivating me to keep me going! I hated The Maidens too, I just found it extremely problematic and I don't like how it seemed to borrow too many similar themes and characters from The Silent Patient. I also felt like the author writes unlikable female characters unintentionally and that is a big no to me. I don't have a problem with an unlikeable character but I think this is coming from a place of actual ignorance or disinterest and that rubs me the wrong way. Can't wait to hear more of your reviews and recs!
