10 years ago, I too was a lost teenager wading through the monotony, and often misery, of high school. I was constantly on the verge of suicide, and I couldn't see myself living another 10 years. But something about Elliot's speech at the end of this video all those years ago made me see the light at the end of the tunnel. And now I'm out of college, living life without boundaries. I made it, Elliot. I wish you could see it.

This may not be his most known series but I think they're the best he's made, they're more personal than the other ones, it's him and his friends making up scenarios about their school and life. It's the kind of stuff you'd look back on when you're much older and reminisce on, and I'm sure a lot of us saw these when we were in school ourselves and wished that school was more wacky like this and not as stressful. To some of us these mean a lot, because we've seen them often and were a big part of our lives at one point, along with his other GMOD videos. To me it reminds me of my midpoint between high school, where I started opening up more to people and met my friends whom I currently value, whenever I felt sad or nostalgic, I would make sure to watch these as they were a high point in one of my best summer breaks. May you rest in peace Colin, thanks for all the laughs throughout these years.

I still re-watch these videos, but the monologue at the end about where he imagines he'll be in 10 years gets to me now. It's been exactly 10 years now since this video was uploaded, and it's just not right that he couldn't be here for it.

I never realized the irony of Kitty using Half Life 2 imagery to portray life in High School. Elliot's school is made out of textures and models that Valve artists intentionally made grimy to create a decaying, dystopian future. The games slavic architecture and industrial sites can be seen outside the school's windows. It ends up working here as a way to comedically highlight the dysfunction and hopelessness of the public education system. Mr. Higglesworth's classroom is plastered with Combine posters and logos. The front of his class simply has an opressive poster of Wallace Breen, which maybe we can assume is the principle in this Universe, which we later find the algebra teacher is subservient to. The important thing is that he doesn't even have a white board to teach the actual math. Instead, they're given a standardized test and a 'big brother' poster to be reminded of society's expectations. I also notice Mr. Cool has graffiti on his chalkboard. The name Mr. Cool attempts to cast his boredom as being 'chill'. The irony here is that his character model was the most eccentric character in Half Life 2. An intriguing British colonel.

Here I am in 2023 still watching these videos before the first day of classes / school like I have since elementary school. These videos are a first day tradition and are insanely nostalgic and special. Miss Collin aka Elliot every day. Can’t thank him enough for these videos.

Today marks the 14th anniversary this video and the beginning of the Elliot goes to school series proper And despite it being so long I still find myself coming back over and over to the series and kitty's videos in general and admiring the craftsmanship that went into them The man was a genius and visionary who created some of the best animation the internet has ever seen and true masterpieces So on this day I salute kitty0706, The King of Gmod animation and One of his most notable creations

10 years ago, I was 13. I used to love this series, I loved gmod, I loved PC games. So much has changed since then, I've grown up and moved on with my life. It was only when I was listening to some of the old music I loved as a teen that it reminded me of this. This silly video series has had a huge impact on me for whatever reason, maybe it's because me and Colin were around the same age and when I was younger I almost felt as if I related to him. Now I'm 3 years older than Colin made it to. He never had the chance to live his dreams, as much as I never knew him, I feel like he's a friend I've lost long ago. In the end all I can say is that he still lives on in our memories and his legacy. As much as his content is becoming dated, its who he was when he was growing up, until he died. He never got the chance to evolve his content and take part in our stupid modern day memes, but when I watch this I get the same feeling I did watching this for the first time. I miss my childhood, I miss Colin, and this silly gmod video series is gonna stay with me for the rest of my life. It's a reminder of a better time. I will never forget the name Kitty0706.
