I love him, I can probably cite exactly what his response will be to every question Craig asks, because I've seen these more than 15 times. It's Elliot, It's Craig, its the comedy. Enjoy!

This seems off topic, but this is why I always thought Craig Ferguson was above David Letterman. Craig might poke fun at his guest, but he was never out to humiliate them. He wanted his guest as much as his audience to feel comfortable and laugh. Often to the point that he broke rules of a talk show. He blatantly invites awkward pauses, he routinely passes over the main topic, he talked to everyone like a Normal person.

I agree 100%. David Letterman was routinely a fucking asshole to his guests, but Craig was infinitely funnier than any of the other talk show hosts and always nice to his guests, even if they were jerks to him. But of course the mainstream shows, Tonight Show, etc. were more popular because most people would rather watch that clean & bland shit than a real artist like Craig.

he pokes fun at guests but at the same time makes ample derogatory remarks about himself. "Creepy old man",etc. No one ever minds when you degrade yourself for some laughs. That is probably why he was able to get away with a lot of stuff with these guests.

Craig has this great ability to read people, particularly in that first interview where he senses Ellen is more shy & reserved & adjusts his interview style accordingly, there's no double-entendres or flirting & he doesn't even bite when she herself drops an innuendo at 8:43.

I came down here to comment much the same. I didn't expect to see this early shy side of her after seeing her confident Juno self. (A lot of people comment how typical talkshow artificiality makes new celebs uncomfy). But you can see how he lead her to comfort zone with her pet dogs, to get her to open up. And it was really sweet :)

That she's a lesbian but was in the closet at the time? I really don't think so; he probably wouldn't have made that "accept yourself" joke if he had known that she really was seriously struggling with an aspect of that. Look how flustered she is until they go to commercial; I think Craig figured out something was wrong and she could use a break at that point. But I don't think he expected that reaction, or knew why. Of course, Ellen doesn't freak out or anything, and continues being awesome and joking around with Craig once she recovers. If she thought he had been intentionally referring to her being in the closet, I don't think she would have been in a good mood for the rest of the interview. It's certainly funny for us in hindsight. And I'd like to think Ellen found it funny herself soon afterwards.

Precisely. One of the many reasons I like Craig so much is because of his ability to throw in well placed non-sequiturs. In one of his interviews with Philip Seymour Hoffman he asked, jokingly, if Hoffman "did lots of drugs". He wasn't being serious, of course. He had no idea. Confirmation bias is one helluva drug.

first of all she dont have a D so she is not a man .. that is a fact like 1+1=2 therefore she is a woman and choose to be seen as man however she isn't a man that is completely crazy for people to think or agree with this just to be known for open minded .. shit this is more crazy. she destroyed her career, she destroyed her self, she destroyed her life. no one will hire her, however the fake support she had in the beginning, she will never see it again when she looking for a job. she will ended working in some office job or being an employee in a production company that is it. i don't know why she has done all of that, if she a lesbian actress, okay fine, there are lesbian actress still work and appear in movies and tv shows. she lost so much and will never come over this one.

I have gone through a C. Ferguson watching binge, and have come to the conclusion so far that Ellen Page's interview is one of the BEST! She is so intelligent, raw, quick, genuine, unintentionally and intentionally comedic. There is a great conversational chemistry and flow between the two that is very entertaining! As with many of the other interviews many come across as fake, try hard, unprofessional, and they appear they need to drink or flirt in order to be some what entertaining - which in my opinion comes off as cheap and can be cringy to watch! I like creative spontaneous unrehearsed humour. The flirting on this show is too over done in most cases with the other interviews, it looks kind of tacky, too repetitive and predictable = boring! I even think this guy ALONE would be even better to listen to as pure stand up comedian...loads better minus the Hollywood fake chitty chat! 👌✌
