Fun Fact: An early version of the intro was uploaded to KZfaq a couple of years ago in which it depicts the Penske cars instead of HMS. It is most likely the case that Ryan Newman and Rusty Wallace were going to be on the main cover before EA decided to switch it up with Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon. Even crazier is that I believe HMS is only four wins away from 300. Insane I also feel a little bad for JGR, as their historic 200th victory was completely overshadowed by the Hail Melon last season

Haas in NASCAR vs Haas in F1 is a night and day difference.

Mostly because being competitive in F1 is so freakin' expensive. Haas is willing to spend enough money to really compete in NASCAR, but he's not willing (or possibly able) to spend enough money to really compete in F1.

While I'm probably one of the few Elliott fans to say this, Elliott is consistent, and a great driver, but anyone logical can see Larson has been kicking ass since coming to Hendrick. Shoot, the stuff he did when he was with Ganassi? Amazing what he did in the 42 car. Elliott has been really consistent in 2024 I will say that, but, he does need a bit more speed to compete if he's going into the playoffs.

One of my favorite things to do in Nascar 06 was to pick Hendrick and to try and get all cars top 5 and I’d do that for 4 cars and then Brian Vickers would be all the way down in 27th or something like that

HMS currently are untouched, even Nascar tries with penalties. Sometimes we can see the surprises from other teams… and one Melon guy who once smashed the wall to become the legend. 😏

I was listening to the PRN broadcast in my apartment when Kyle Larson made history in 2021. I still remember the call by Doug Rice: " it's a historic night for Kyle Larson as he wins the Coca-Cola 600! It is also history-making tonight for Hendrick Motorsports as they become the all-time winningest organization, as they collect win number 269, and it comes with Kyle Larson at the helm!" Now, Hendrix sits at an unprecedented and almost untouchable 301 victories. How many do you think they'll get in their 40th anniversary in 2024?

Yes I agree and I am also a Chase Elliot fan also. But I honestly want William Byron to win the championship this year and that would make 3 different HMS drivers to win the championship in the last 4 years. And that’s pure domination and plus William Byron only had 3 wins the whole time he has been with HMS tell 2023 we’re he has 6 wins so far. He is beyond on a mission to pull it off but it’s going to be hard excluding Larson is also in the final 4 in the playoffs for the championship. But if he can’t pull it off and Larson wins it still will be another championship for HMS can’t complain about that. GO HMS

Great video with excellent research. I love the color film from the 50's and 60's. Just want to add that Carl Kiekhafer was the founder of Mercury Marine and earned over 200 patents. He used his business fortune and engineering expertise to dominate NASCAR then abruptly quit. He'd be a good topic for a video all by himself.

This new car is especially fascinating given the improvement of some mediocre or godawful teams and while it may help Roush and RCR return to the promised land, it may also cause wins to be divided among more teams too In what timeline do we exist where JTG may qualify for the playoffs on points and not even need that win, friggin' surreal

Fun fact nascar 06 was originally supposed to be called nascar 06 chase for the cup but was changed. There’s an early trailer floating around on here showing the old branding.

Carl Kiekhaefer's team was aided by the fact that there were 45 races in 1955 and the schedule was expanded to 56 the following year while these days, the schedule is capped at 36

SHR’s run will be coming to an end. It’s really weird that it has come to this. This is like if the New England Patriots folded after a couple bad years when Brady left, Pittsburgh Penguins going bankrupt after having a good year… oh wait that’s happened to them multiple times, New York Yankees relocating because they’re stuck in a funk, or for a more relevant to motorsports example, Red Bull shutting down their Formula 1 teams to restart their NASCAR team with SVG and maybe bring Max with them if he really wanted to but I doubt it (however, Montoya jumped to NASCAR wanting a new challenge so 🤷🏻‍♂️)
