What i took away from this story is that Bing Soy is definitely an interesting and creative person. Thanks for documenting his enigmatic presence! I can't help but feel pride in contributing to this story in such a passive way - the fact that you guys were able to so consistently encounter Bing Soy and watch his antics is a big part of what makes community servers so essential to the spirit of TF2.

The lonely wizard from inscryption is a character who was isolated for a long time and who now craves any sort of stimulation to an extreme degree. Perhaps this reflects how Bing Sou feels: isolated, and wanting to feel a part of a community or game for a bit. Maybe driving off a boredom and monotony they feel in their own life. Idk
@EggyEggtoast
@EggyEggtoast 3 ай бұрын
To add to this, the lonely wizard when you obtain him as a card in inscryption has two major qualities; First is that he has an ability called "Clingy" that makes it so he will move from whatever space he occupies in the board to the closest vacant space he can possibly get to any cards the player deploys after him (to note that he does this automatically) And second that what he says when this ability is activated is "Hello, friend!" as his card art vibrates giddily. Knowing that, I'm 50/50 on whether or not he has a strong desire to make friends through the game through or despite his quirks OR that he might find the people tailing him clingy and feels jumped on. Bing Soy seems to hold the group in good regard though so I'm more inclined to the former.

Came here to say this! Also, the stick, sticker, stickest seems to be him slowly retreating from society to where he lives alone and plays TF2 in the woods. Kind of tying into him being isolated and lonely with the Lonely Wizard connection. I think he has difficulty communicating or socializing that don't allow people to appreciate him like a nice documentary could (or taking the time to decipher letter by letter in game chat or cryptic pictures, both of which were amazing). I'm happy that he has a creative outlet with his KZfaq channel and they he thinks/acts is really interesting to me. ILY BING SOY!!!

24:35 That looks like the Lonely Wizard from Inscryption. For context, The Lonely Wizard is a character who studies under the Scrybe of Magiks Magnificus. Magnificus does painful things to his students as tests. Lonely Wizard's test was complete sensory deprivation. When he finally got out, He left Magnificus, and is in constant search for Stimulation. I don't know if this means anything, but maybe this helps. I doubt this comment even matters, this is a year old video, but I got into TF2 soon after getting into Inscryption, so this is something I noticed.

This is the most cryptic and loveable TF2 player I've ever seen. Bing Soy: -Plays Tf2 in very unconventional ways. -Sends a google drive link with pictures instead of simple answers. -Makes impressive pixel art. -Has great editing skills on his channel. -Is committed to the silence. I hope Bing Soy keeps on enjoying and TF2 and inspires others to embrace the wacky and chaotic charm that TF2 can bring.

its a little weird how some TF2 guy randomly shooting rockets, standing still, being a bit wacky created such an impression in the youtuber that he 'had to find out more' and 'who is this guy, he's so creative'. No offense to the video but a lot of his stuff is just usual tomfoolery in games, but the youtube puts so much emphasis and meaning into what he does. I mean only in hindsight might it have any meaning after the interview. But at face value theres really nothing unique? I mean a viral video about a random wacky tf2 player?

I 100% agree. His pixel art is very nice. It's easy to look at, and effective at conveying his messages. I think the reason he communicates this way is because it gets you to think about his messages rather than just hearing words. This world is rapidly passing away and I hope that you repent and take time to change before all out disaster occurs! Belief in messiah alone is not enough to grant you salvation - Matthew 7:21-23, John 3:3, John 3:36 (ESV is the best translation for John 3:36) if you believed in Messiah you would be following His commands as best as you could. If you are not a follower of Messiah I would highly recommend becoming one. Call on the name of Jesus and pray for Him to intervene in your life - Revelation 3:20. Contemplate how the Roman Empire fulfilled the role of the beast from the sea in Revelation 13 over the course of 1260+ years. Revelation 17 confirms that the beast is in fact Rome. From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the Son of God and can predict the future or make it happen, B) The world leaders/nations/governments etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years going back to Babylon and before, C) History as we know it is fake. You don't really need to speculate once you start a relationship with God. Can't get a response from God? Fasting can help increase your perception and prayer can help initiate events. God will ignore you if your prayer does not align with His purpose (James 4:3) or if you are approaching Him when "unclean" (Isaiah 1:15, Isaiah 59:2, Micah 3:4). Stop eating food sacrificed to idols (McDonald's, Wendy's etc) stop glorifying yourself on social media or making other images of yourself (Second Commandment), stop gossiping about other people, stop watching obscene content etc. Have a blessed day!

Bing Soy has a point. What makes these old games so much fun, is the "Emergent Gameplay". Stuff that you learn to do out of "quirks" from the game engine. Such as rocket jumping or ninjaneering Games should learn from making their games simple on the surface, and adding the depth to be more "discoverable". Modern games are too structured to allow for creativity

24:46 That Inscryption character is called the "Lonely Wizard". He was tortured for many years by total sensory deprivation, and by the time you meet him his whole character revolves around how he is completely obsessed with any form of stimulation after having been denied it for so long. Anything that happens to Lonely Wizard, good or bad, is euphoric just because it's better than no sensation at all I interpret this as Bing Soy being lonely, or perhaps having been lonely at some time in the past, and now he is getting a sense of euphoria when he is recognised in a crowd for his unusual behaviour

I think it also had something to do with the graphic at the beginning of one of his videos. The one that shows a stick figure getting progressively sadder, with the description, something good can come out of something bad. I think that means that he was severely depressed, and now that he's out of it, no matter what happens, at least it is something. Depression is described as a lack of any emotion, so this would make sense with your prediction. Now that he's no longer depressed, even the most crippling sadness is better than nothing.

The Lonely Wizard from Inscryption is a character that was driven insane due to sensory deprivation. Basically locked in the void for an unknown length of time. Once free, he would cling (sometimes literally) to anything that gave him a sensory experience. Any sight, sound, even pain when defeating him he enjoyed. I'm not sure how to apply that to Bing Soy. My best guess would be doing things for the sake of doing something. Maybe Bing Soy is challenging themself in order to feel new experiences. Maybe it symbolizes keeping the game fresh and feeling alive even when the content has stagnated for so long

"The Good Job". Every description for those weapons? "Good job, tesseract.". He was an enigma to every player on the server, but he was a damn good teammate that's for sure. There was only one time he said something that wasn't the usual, but I sadly can't remember what he said. It was probably something simple like "Hi.", but it made people freak out for a while. Oh, goodness. Bing Soy. Wayyy back on an old aus hightower server I used to play, I though this guy was a medic bot, but i was absolutely shocked to find out he was real when, on my birthday, he sprayed art he had drawn for me on the wall. Absolute legend and enigma. This was... what, like... six years ago? So this man has been doing this stuff for that long, too.

23:01 I think it is pretty clear that the drawings represent the way things evolved. The story is in 3 parts - "Stick" is him and elmaxo, representing the first interaction, "Sticker" represents all the people that started stalking him after elmaxo featured him and launched the investigation, and "Stickest" represents someone invading his home (his privacy, his retreat, the game). That also ties to the "requiem" video where the happy face became sad, which illustrates the fact that it was great at first, but it soon became a bad experience because even though he liked the new attention it didn't allow him to play the game and experience things the way he did when he was a random player, and no one cared about him.

yeah this vid i feel misrepresents the drawings for sure lmao, tho I saw the drawings as "You saw me, they saw me, i was finally home". "experimentation" that's whiskey going into a glass bruh, dude probably just saying he likes to get silly and screw around. "level up his knowledge" dude is saying his mind is too chaotic and noisy, why else include VOL?. "Play button, youtube" or just play button as in play, like he enjoys playing the game in an original way.

Bing Soy is an artist. Bing Soy experiments just like how an artist does by throwing out many different creative ideas and seeing what sticks. Bing Soy is great with illustration and has a great understanding of design, judging by the pixel art illustrations that conveyed Bing Soy's answers to the questions asked of Bing Soy.

Unless the STEAMID is the same for every occurrence of Bing Soy, we cannot prove that it is the same person. This leaves few possibilities for the actual reasons why Bing Soy does Bing Soy the things that he does if a STEAMID was never obtained. Entertaining nevertheless.

24:31 In inscryption, the lonely wizard is a character who has been trapped in complete isolation for most of his life, and seeks out any form of stimuli after being freed. This probably means he was feeling lonely and isolated, and is looking for connection through tf2. The cabin in the woods in the “other” folder also seems to resemble leshy’s cabin from inscryption, so take this as you will. It’s worth mentioning that inscryption had a huge ARG associated with it.
@grump0639
@grump0639 Жыл бұрын
It could also open up the possibility that all the wacky tactics that Bing Soy has up his sleeves is his form of "stimulation" (alluding to the lonely wizard in inscryption) because his tactics are so out there and never done before, meaning that the dopamine rush or stimuli taken from performing the task makes him embody the character of the lonely wizard by trying things that nobody else has ever done in an effort to find stimulation.

One thing that I found out, is that when I came across the interview documentary, I just noticed that his favorite classes were sniper/pyro. Now, it's quite obvious enough since we noticed that he's very skilled at playing these classes but if we take a look a bit closer at the mercs' personalities, it was revealed that they somewhat connected to him. Pyro: Mysterious Hidden identity Silly Having Fun Knows how to draw "Talks" in a mysterious manner to the point that someone needs to decode it for him in order to understand Checking for spies (if that fire clip is anything to go by) Energetic Started to warm up Tries to spread joy within the community Sniper: Skilled Down-to-earth Clearly a professional Cautious Paranoid Alone Strategic (snipers lone and wild hunter background should support this) Risk taker So, in retrospect, he happened to like Sniper/Pyro because aside from maining them so well, they could also be related to him. The two pictures of someone being isolated away from other people starting from this 23:30 to this 28:38 as well as the intro is obviously Bing Soy, probably dealing not only with stress from sudden popularity but with feelings of sadness. Whether he feels isolated from TF2 or the real life, he still wanted to fit in by making his own methods of play style and experience his own wacky events not just for his own fun but for others around him as well, despite the obstacles he had encountered throughout his life. And I salute for that guy, for his wholesome tribute. "You're a real good son, real good. Maybe even the best."
