Mr. Blue Sky is a song by ELO (Electric Light Orchestra) originally released in 1977 and reused in several movies since its release: Megamind, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 as well as several TV shows: Doctor Who, CSI, American Dad! to name a few. The song has been re-recorded by Jeff Lynne and an official music video was released in late 2012. This piano arrangement is very fun to play, and would be a great choice to learn!

I am a self taught piano player, and I love the song however I am having trouble seperating my hands. Any advice?

Separating your hands can be very strange at first because you need to know when the hands play separately and when they play together. You need to practice slowly to feel where the hands play together so that when you speed it up it feels more natural. I hope this helps you on the way! -Samuel

Thank you so much for this! I’ve been wanting a simple version of this that doesn’t sacrifice the tune itself. I feel this about as simple as you can get without doing that. Even though it’s not as complex I can still vibe to this with no problem. It’s one my favorite feel good songs and now I can start practicing to play it myself someday.

u need to switch the tone there should be a slider or a setting on your keyboard that something like bright piano grand piano so u switch it and play this song until it sounds like what he is playing

I know I’m a little late but after listening to both and playing both, i think it sounds a lot better with the easy version, yea the hard one has all the bells and whistles but the song sounds more natural and enjoyable with the whole “less is more” mentality

I usually use peter plutax piano but you are doing amazing!! How do you make these? Do you just play it and it will put it into the midi or do you make it to where it translates some of the original song?
