So much hate on twitter and reddit these days for this dude. It's insane. How can people not see him for what he is.
@RobinClaassen
@RobinClaassen 2 жыл бұрын
I think that a big part of the phenomenon of Elon-hate is that he has taken policy stances that go against the some people's political orthodoxies, which put him on the other side of the political spectrum in their minds, and therefore make him a bad person. Him being against Covid lockdowns and higher taxes for high-earners come to mind. Once you've decided that a public figure is a bad person, it's easy to make every new piece of information you hear about them fit that narrative, and to accept verifiably false claims about them that strengthen that narrative because that allows you to hold a more simple model of the world and not have to deal with an uncomfortable ambiguity that might make your question your own beliefs. It allows you to hold a picture of the world that allows you to feel good about yourself because in it, you're perfectly righteous and correct. Some people also hold as one of their central beliefs that all rich people are necessarily self-interested and exploitative assholes. They build their own identities around that idea. For them, it can be easier to mold all rich people to fit that belief system than it can to adapt that belief system based on the evidence they see.

And I am genuinely thankful that I saw this interview...... it gives me hope that in the future..... good will triumph over evil. His attempt to buy Twitter has felt good since the news about it first surfaced. I hope he can reverse the negativity that floods our democracy each and every day by the social platforms and news outlets that seem to love conflict and chaos. That's a tall order to be sure...... but now I have hope that it can be accomplished...... thanks to Elon..... for reminding us that humanity is a thing we can all get behind and support.

The question of being lonely is something that touches me directly. Social interactions have a tendency to be rather stressful, but that does not make me someone who likes being alone. Peoples often have the wrong perception of that side of me. Sometime, just being there, having peoples around me without interacting is sufficient. The fact that I am not a very outgoing person does not meant hat I don't enjoy the company of others. There are times where I do have something to say, and the perception that others have of me can make it much harder to do so. Do not assume to much of someone who is quiet. Give them the opportunity to express themselves when they choose to do so. Do not push them, force to interact when they do not want to. Let them do it at their own pace.

@@DanielDavies-StellularNebulla The interviewer is Martin Döpfner - He is not only journalist. He is CEO of Springer group, one of the biggest media groups in Germany. I'm German too, so nativ speaker and I know Doepfner him from his articles. Many times I do not agree with his points of view. Probably because they envolve political questions and a strong left agenda. But, when he jumped out of his articles and did this interview I was simply astounded - Due to the interview conducted by himself and how well he opened the insight to Elon Musk, showing so we'll what guy Elon is and how he is thinking. What made this interview so valuable is that it showed Elon from another side than in the common superficial US Media events. But I'm almost shure that Döpfner had been studied Elon Musk for just a long long time waiting and preparing himself for that event, just knowing him very well and how enable this deep insight. Very epic 45min.

@@DanielDavies-StellularNebulla Elon's first Joe Rogan interview is better. It's less polished and more thoughtful. And there were a few, namely the one about how to allocate money effectively ("I care about the reality. Agreed, the only thing I thought would be different is solar and batteries would be a bridge to next generation thorium nuclear technology due to it being able to power the same amount of infrastructure with a comparatively tiny footprint and least environmental disturbance; especially since solar and batteries can be constructed much more quickly than fission and eventually fusion plants. Eventually as the enormous solar farms and battery storage reach their end of life they can be replaced with nuclear and the land can be returned to nature or farming since Earth with be the bread basket of a solar system society. As far as the birthrates SpaceX would be the solution to provide the means for us to expand.
