That's also what people thought about the invention of writing, "people are becoming dependent on writing and books, not their own memory". But now we know how useful writing is for the development of our civilization, you wouldn't be able to comment on this video if writing wasn't invented. I would imagine AI would be the equivalent of writing in that way, it frees our brain power from some tasks (like information storage and recall) and allows us to use that brain power on other tasks

As someone who grew up without them you're wrong and right. We're more dependent on them and can't function as well without them as a person with no phone. However the same thing is true if you compare literate vs illiterate people and In both cases though the person with the tech is superior and has far more power. A cell phone can give you access to an incredible free education if you take the time and seek it out while monitoring your sources. The same phone however allows you to get in infinitely more trouble and waste your life watching ticktock if your so inclined. Don't blame the tool for how people use it though

What holds in the future, with neuralink, is a path for human progress, a world where people don't have to suffer unjustly and a way to survive AI I'm not saying you shouldn't be scared, has I, too, sometimes get scared thinking about it, but you need to undestand that AI is inevitable. Science, itself, is inevitable, so, why not try to get around this threat? The worse case scenerario is still better than not doing anything at all Also, I'm not a native english speaker, so, sorry if the text is weird in some parts

As someone who studies computer science and AI even just at the bachelor’s level, the oversimplification in some parts of this video to the point where it becomes partially inaccurate is dangerous. It paints an incorrect picture in people’s minds as to what "Artificial Intelligence" is as seen by the comment section and detracts focus from the much more relevant and pressing ethical concerns (these concerns are more rooted than much of the sci-fi stuff in the video, which has its place in ethical conversations, but there are bigger issues in front of us) behind actual more common uses of artificial intelligence and machine learning. It's important to open up conversations about how these techniques are being used today (in common scenarios from algorithms that determine how much credit you receive, to surveillance and computer vision applications that police departments are beginning to use to identify anyone from scraped images on the internet), how it affects all of us, and how it will be used in the next few years, which many people likely have no context about.

Maybe I should make a video better explaining my statement - based on the other two comments above, either I butchered explaining what I was trying to say or it wasn’t received correctly - the two comments above indicate that. No disrespect intended, while those are nice “philosophical” questions, my comment was targeted on shifting the focus away from those and on more relevant “tangible” aspects of this tech. My comment indicates that the video has a few inaccurate generalizations that are created for a “wow” effect that seem to be scaring people who may not be as familiar with fundamental concepts within the space (which is totally fine) I’m just concerned with giving people a more grounded, accurate view that’s not trying to (ever so slightly) stir up a commotion.

Problems I see this has: 1) How good they are for forcing agenda made by some people controlling this (ideologies can be possibly forced by this device) 2) How does information validation work, because all information isn't always correct? 3) How well it should be connected to internet that connectivity will make you vulnerable to hackers But if this device can be used without internet then I'm interested!
