8 ай бұрынDuring the November 2, 2023 Ribbon Cutting/Open House for the New Performing Arts Center at Oak Mountain High School, the OMHS Wind Ensemble performed this classic by Richard Wagner - "Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral".
This piece was loved by Mr. Jim Duren, the first Band Director at Oak Mountain and who the new Band Room is named for in his honor. Mr. Duren passed away in 2020. Many of his students have played this piece and we wanted to share it here....captured as performed for the public for the first time in the new band room.

By far, Mr. Duren was the most influential and memorable person in my life. And listening to pieces like this, gives me chills and brings back so many great memories. Miss you "Old man". Well played OMHS Wind Ensemble!
