This was one of the worst albums I ever purchased that year, and without a doubt the worst I had ever heard from Elton John. Here we are, almost 50 years later I haven't gone back on my personal promise that I would NEVER buy an EJ recording again. Inevitably it happens to nearly every recording artist. They finally get their break, they make it big and then ride on the crest of their popularity wave UNTIL they become delusional enough to believe that anything they record is going to continue to propel them along. And in many cases it does work because their fans really don't care about WHAT they hear, but are more concerned that their musical "hero" recorded something and will buy it regardless of content or artistic collaborative ability. Sorry, but not THIS money-paying consumer.
