The interesting thing about this is how usually Billy Joel performs "Uptown Girl" live without the need of his piano. But here, Elton beautifully covered Uptown Girl with his piano and, with his unique style of singing and performing, made it sound like his own song. I'm very amazed.

Mr Joel's version wins because it's more "rock n roll" than Mr John's version. But Mr John did it very good too.

Helio Moura Billy Joel doesn’t sing Rock and Roll. He sings generic adult contemporary. Elton’s was definitely more swung and had a better Rock and Roll feel to it, but it’s still generic adult contemporary, because you know, it’s Billy Joel.

Elton's solo take on it sounds less like a blatant Four Seasons tribute and more like something off of his "Don't Shoot Me.." album. In my "EJ..live.." playlist. Thanks for the upload.

Billy Joel plays most of his songs half step lower than the original. I haven't seem him go any lower than that. For his age, his voice is incredible. His range is still very good. His voice has gotten a bit deeper, but I'm talking sound wise, not pitch wise. Elton John's voice has gotten way lower but at the same time a lot tighter. Billy Joel can sing twice as high as Elton these days.

Edaan Friedman Not true at all. Elton’s range surpasses Billy’s a lot. Examples: during the song Bennie and the Jets, Elton John can still hit the high note present on the lyric “magazine.” I believe it’s a high C. Elton can also singing impressively high when performing songs like All The Young Girls Love Alice and Skyline Pigeon. Rocket Man is also a marvel to watch. While yes, he did drop a lot of his music by a whole step, he can still sing higher than Billy.

Neither one can hit high notes anymore. This matches Elton's current vocal range very well.
