Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain may just be the world's weirdest roller coaster. The attraction is a conversion of an old dark ride into a tight and compact wooden roller coaster! The experience the coaster delivers to riders is completely bizarre! But the ride also comes a long with a list of operational issues that we'll discuss in this video! No issues that pose any danger to riders of course but definitely some interesting stuff!
Thank you Eiam Staples for making this video possible! Eiam is son of Gene Staples, the man who bought Indiana Beach when its prior operator went bankrupt. Give Eiam a follow on instagram! He has even more behind the scenes photos of Lost Coaster! - @stapleseiam

Maybe pass this along: If they filled the car(s) metal tubing with molten lead.. it would add a pretty good amount of mass to the car(s). Simply drill a few small holes, and pour in, with a custom metal funnel. Weld any holes closed, and nobody would ever be the wiser. If there are places where bolts pass through, they could inject a high-temp material before and after the bolt areas, to prevent lead from traveling to those areas. That, or drill out the areas, and weld in metal pipe "spacer / bearing" pieces. (bolt pass throughs, similar to a welded-in nut, but without the threading) Another option, would be a 1" thick steel plate as an undercarriage riser, or under-seats platform mass, and or flooring riser mass.

A quite humorous thing about the skeleton on the lift hill. Sometimes, it'll reference nearby food-stands, asking the riders to get him something from there, ending with something like "Wait, where are you going? The stand is the other way!"

If I worked at Indiana Beach, I’d talk to The Gravity Group about putting in another block zone before the elevator lift hill to run 3 trains and put drive tires in the places it tends to valley, that are activated by a system of sensors connected to timers that determine that the train is going slow enough to valley. If the train is going slow enough to valley, the drive tires are activated and push the train along.

my sibling used to work on this ride. they said it was a nightmare to operate, and they had to call maintenance every hour or so because the train kept getting caught in the tunnel

I rode this for the first time a few weeks ago and it’s one of the greatest coasters ever made! You have to hang on tight because if no one’s sitting next to you, you’ll be thrown hard side to side. The airtime caused my head to hit the the netting.

What a amazing video concept! Love all the PRC videos! But I literally beg with all my heart can you please do the Smiler at Alton Towers! It’s my home park and quite infamously has had an extremely rocky history!

Always happy to see my home park featured. I do remember that on the original ride, there was a train that would pop out of a door at the last turn, always terrifying me as a kid. You can still see it, but it doesn’t pop out any more. I can’t remember if they kept the sound effect that played.

When I was working as an intern at a recording studio in college, they were doing tons of commercial jingles for that park. I can still hear the song in my head. “There’s more than cooooorrrnn in Indiaaaaana… Indiana Beeeeeach!”

Kind of reminds me of the "Bavarian Beetle"(I think that was the name 35 years ago) at Kings Island. I really would like to ride this coaster but I got old. I developed Lupus, so now I cannot be in the sun and, cannot stand for long so waiting in line is out of the question. Have fun while you can kids. You never when the future might turn against you.

It's so bizarre seeing Indiana beach online as it was my main theme park growing up. This ride was always broken and as a result it had constant long lines, it even managed to be one of the roughest rides in a park full of old wood roller coaster.

I live in Indiana and grew up going to this park because my grandparents had a summer home down there. I remember when this coaster was installed. I'm also very glad that they still continue to try and keep it going because it's always been one of my favorites if only because it's what remains of the dark ride that it replaced. I barely remember the dark ride because I was so little but I know they reused a lot of the assets from it. It's also just a very unique experience. I have a lot of good memories

I absolutely love this series, I would love to see one on Powder Keg from Silver Dollar City at some point as I have worked that ride and it is an utter mess. 3 Train operation will never be possible again even though it was originally supposed to be able to. Along with a ton of other problems that the ride faces daily. Love all the videos, keep it up!

You said sometimes it blows the mid course brake run when it's running fast... I'm surprised you didn't mention that as a pretty important reason they can't run 3 cars with the current block zone setup. Seems like a pretty serious reason.

For those in the know, it's LoCoSuMo. It really deserves more than one coaster credit depending on what car/seat you're in. Facing backwards in the rear car is unlike any other coaster experience in the world.
