Such a great song for showcasing the gurdy. I learned it with the string tuned to C, I'm wondering if there is any particular reason why you have it tuned to D (maybe to reduce some of the stretches, I'm thinking particularly around 2:50 which is kinda hard to play tuned to C haha)?

So obviously Im not Annie but I have originally learnt Thousandfold on my gurdy with the melody string tuned to C and then moved to D. The reasoning: why reach faaaaaar away for the second key all the time when you just can play an open D string during the chorus? Try it, it's much more comfortable!

Look up Folkskelet's channel. She has a couple of videos about starter gurdies and another on inexpensive gurdies. You can also look up Michalina Malisz, Annie's predecessor. She and her husband also make hurdy-gurdies.
