So, why the Sbrick? Well, standard Lego Powerfunctions works with infrared. The sun also throws out a ton of infrared. So, if I want to film in direct sunlight, on a massive reflective water surface, I'm better off with bluetooth. Also, the range is just ever so slightly better. Which helps, since I don't want to swim to retrieve my boat. Third advantage: it can power Lego's old RC motor. That thing uses so much power that regular PF receivers just shut down. No problem with an Sbrick. To top it off; proportional control is just very nice.
As for the rest; this is a ship built for speed and maneuverability. Thanks to Lego's 60095 boat hull, it's very stable.
