From the original Spinning Songbook tour, Elvis plays a cover of the Abba song Knowing Me Knowing You. This was filmed on a rented camera. The film was then transferred to VHS with upgraded audio. This is a digital transfer of that VHS tape.

The fact this song was covered by Costello, Joe Jackson and others is testament to what a brilliantly written pop song it is. I think they recognised this as great songwriters themselves, and couldn't resist it. I love the post punk/ new wave feel they bring to it.

What a great interpretation of a well known song. I will always prefer the original but credit to him for doing it in his own style and totally making it his own.

I heard about this in my 20s- back in the 80s. This is the first time I've ever heard it. I loved Abba when everyone (not smart people) hated them. As a teenager, I had to hide my love for their pop magic. As for Elvis, I was into his father's music long before I'd heard Alison or Oliver's Army. Ross McManus' version of I Know Why (& so do you) is too good too be true. But it is. Anyway, I wept, a little, watching this mythological recording for the first time.
