I was exactly Lisa Marie's age in 1977 visiting my relatives in Cape Breton. All the adults were gone out of the house for some reason and it was just me and my brother and we heard it on the radio they left on. It's sort of freaking me out that she is gone though. Because even though I didn't know her I remember her at every stage of her life as I was at the same stage (through the tabloids though as we had a corner store, lol). I remember her high school rebellious years as in the tabloids would discuss it. Lol. And I remember her on the cover of People with her baby in the late 80s when she had her daughter, her music career in the 2000s, etc.

I was in high school when Elvis hit the airways. We all just went bananas over him. My boyfriend Glenn, at that time looked like Elvis, sang and played his guitar like Elvis and put on a show for all us like Elvis did. We would go to a Drive Inn restaurant in Missoula, where we were from and he’d set on the hood of his 1955 Chevy and start playing and singing then jump off the car and start his dance . Oh! I can still see him and hear him. I had a curfew ,had to be home at 11:00pm. And he’d say I have to get my girl home. Glenn was drafted into the Air Force and was stationed at Amarillo AFB, Texas. We lost track of each other and I married in 1958. After Elvis died I got to go to Graceland. A trip I’ll never forget as long as I live. His ‘55 Pink Cad. convertible is in a show case in the MGM Casino in Las Vegas,Nevada. I had the pleasure of seeing it. I never ever got to see him in person as when his show was in Reno because all tickets were sold out months before he appeared. When his show was taken to Hawaii tickets were sold out months before for. He was the IDEAL of my life to this day. (he was only five years older than me). My he rest in peace. ❤

With the curfew approaching, Vernon went down to the gate and offered to let the crowds onto the grounds for the night so they wouldn't get arrested--but they had to promise not to approach the house, and to leave first thing in the morning. What more could a true Elvis fan desire than to spend the night on the King's front lawn? One woman from Pennsylvania later wrote a letter/article printed in the Memphis paper, describing it as the most beautiful and serene night of her life. Most folks who lived in Memphis in those days could tell one or two Elvis stories. In my case, I worked at one of the movie theatres he would sometimes rent after hours, and we also had the same Tae Kwon Do instructor, Master Kang Rhee; but we never actually met. 🤠

Exactly. Theres nothing anyone could do to stop another from addiction unless that person wants to truly change. The books I read said the memphis mafia members each tried to get him to stop but elvis would just lose his temper at them. And elvis even fired them for that.
