Young adults and teenagers of the "Silent Generation", born during the Great Depression and World War II years, rebelled against their parents' conservative generation to make their own generation's Elvis the most popular cultural icon of the fifties. Heartfelt thanks to them, grandmas and grandpas today, from a fan born much later.

Silent and boomers, boomers were already teens in the late 50s.
@cnath34662 жыл бұрын
@@thecensoredmuscle563 Boomers were born from 1946 (post WW2) until 1964. So the oldest boomers, who were born in 1946, would be 13 years old only in 1959, when EP was already in the army and had already given his final stage performance of the fifties on November 11, 1957. Elvis entered the US Army on March 24, 1958. So IMHO, the Boomers were too late for '50s Elvis, but just right for the '60s Beatles. I would say the Boomers made the Beatles famous. Young Elvis belongs to his brilliant 'Silent' fans.

Think about it. Elvis Presley was what Justin Bieber became back in the 2010s. He walked so the likes of The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Backstreet Boys and so many other great bands and singers could run and later fly. There's a reason he's considered one of the all-time greats and the reactions he drew from women is just the tip of the iceberg.
@thecensoredmuscle5632 жыл бұрын
None of those guys were close to Elvis level with chick's. Especially since this was a time where people were used to stiff musicians, playing slower songs. Then this young attractive guy with a great voice and dance moves comes up, and girls went crazy on a level that has never been seen again. Beatles and Jackson had alot of guys help their success, Elvis is the #1 selling solo artist, and did it off the backs of women.

i'm thinking it's mostly disbelief when seeing in person someone who's so famous and who they are also so into, maybe it was not so easy to get to see him live. And also being part of a mass, it gets sort of contagious, you just lose control when everybody does.. It also helps that he's so charismatic and a bit lascivious in his dance moves, good dancer anyway, and a skilled voice that is powerful and velvety. It's music, great hits you know by heart, dancing, loose atmosphere, attraction, and mass hysteria :)
