This video contains pictures from The Kings funeral 18. august 1977, and pictures from his last concert. An estimated 500,000 people as well as 1000 Police officers and 300 national guard lined the streets of Memphis as The King drove through for the last time. The tragic and sad news of Elvis Presley's dead shocked the whole world, and one of the greatest singers and entertainers ever to live left the world that day.

I was a Deputy Sheriff on duty in my cruiser the day that Elvis died. My dispatcher came over the radio and told us that Elvis had died. It was such a shock. I had to pull over on the side of the road. I respected Elvis not only for his talent but because of his not fighting the draft when he was called up and his willingness to serve his country. He also respected his parents, and the money did not go to his head, and he was willing to give most of it away. There will never be another Elvis.

I've seen many great entertainer's in my life, John Lennon, Michael Jackson, Mick Jagger and Freddie Mercury but in my opinion nobody ever comes close to Elvis Presley he really was the King

I've always wondered about the infamous photo of Elvis his casket's authenticity and have always wanted to ask someone who was there if that's how Elvis really looked at the time of his funeral. That would be the only way to know for sure that the National Enquirer put a fake picture in their tabloid.

I was only 6 yrs old when Elvis died. I still remember hugging my mom while she cried her eyes out when she put me to bed that night. Later in life, her love for him became my love for him still to this day.

Everyone who means something to someone is worth crying over. What a silly thing to say. Chester from linkin park, Kurt cobain, Johnny cash, prince, George Michael. Yes Elvis was different era and called the king and it was sad for all. But the first sentence threw me there. Michael Jackson was also the king. How many kings do we crown lol 😂

I remember that day elvis passed away l was a little girl in primary school l got home that afternoon and I remember my mama crying when I got home back in 1977 august 16th will never forget that date lm now 57 years old in 2024 and still think about elvis to this day and my mum who has now passed away and she loved elvis Presley so much me and my sister still listen to elvis music to this day its so good music and so good memories....

I will always remember that day Elvis passed away on the 26th August 1977. I was nursing my new born son at about 4.30 pm when the program was stopped for breaking new from Memphis about the passing of My idol Elvis Presley 😂. It was a sad day for many around the world. Elvis was loved by all that even knew his name, I loved him since I was around 10 yrs old I am now 77yrs old. ❤Rest in Peace.💓🙏♥️🌹

Elvis was of my parents' generation, not mine, and I was in junior high when he passed. Yet and still, the day after he died, when I caught the bus for school, everyone on that bus was crying. I mean EVERYONE!🌹❤️🌹

Elvis Presley was dead...He sure was something else... never have seen anyone else who had that much going on for them ... and left way too soon...He was a Mississippi boy like me.... didn't know much of anything... but had a whole lotta of love in his heart.
