I heard that he told someone his voice was no different from others, and that it was just the way he used his voice. Whatever, but it is right up there with the angels. I know I have heard this song before, but must have fast forwarded it, not knowing how beautiful it was. It is right up there in my top 5 now.

@@beckyj.167 Yes, for me too it's his superior voice first, then all the rest of his 'add-ons' (the emotionality, energy, flexibility, timing, phrasing, stage charisma, looks, dancing, etc). I have listened to comparisons of his singing with numerous other great singers through time, singing the same songs. According to the sound receiving and responding equipment in my head, no other voice comes anywhere close to Elvis, in terms of making my brain vibrate and resonate so vigorously while they sing. That's why I think Elvis' voice does something so positive and good to our brains. Only Elvis' heavenly voice has special qualities linked uniquely to his physical voice box and throat, which produces a clean, versatile, powerful and spherically beautiful set of vibrations that so charm and captivate our brains. And he has honed his vocal instrument to perfection from the age of about 3-4 years, when he discovered his passion for music while sitting on his mother's lap, listening to his church choir. His voice was trained and perfected like an olympic champion for almost 40 years! I think he was just being modest & humble about the special qualities of his superior voice, so as not to make anyone else feel bad for not being so blessed as he was, from birth. He's surely an angel!
