Opera singers sing this song ,it's called o sole mio ,but Elvis was told you can never sing this song ,because he does't have the vocals ,but when Elvis came home from the army ,he ask someone to write ,american lyrics for it ,so Elvis practiced ,and practised to get to those high vocals ,he was a very gifted ,and talented singer

I always enjoy your reactions to Elvis. This is the most beautiful song & it showcases that Elvis, who has a baritone voice, can sing as a tenor. His vocals are crazy! I would love seeing your reaction to Elvis singing Take My Hand, Precious Lord. It’s an audio recording, but well worth listening to. His voice is just so beautiful when he sings this song. Thanks.

A three octave voice who could sing anything from gospel to opera. He had such warmth and passion his voice, and sometimes a sad cry. I've missed you thanks for another great one. Happy New Year.

In the 70s at Live concerts, Elvis would have his tenor Sherrill Neilson sing it in Italian, (O Solo Mio) and then Elvis would sing the English lyrics (It’s now or Never). It was great

Please check out "I Want You I Need You I Love You" from 1956. A very early ballad which showed nice range early on. Interesting fact about this song, during the middle of a tour, RCA charted a flight to get him to Nashville. The plane had engine problems midflight and lost power a few times. The session didn't go very well and had to be cut short because Elvis was very shaken. The song was pieced together from just a few takes. Subsequently, for many years, Elvis avoided flying as much as possible and would mostly travel across country in a custom bus, that he insisted on driving quite a bit.

I like your take on it as usual. The other thing that this reminds me of is when this is recorded we weren't a whole lot more than a decade out of the end of World War II and of course the Korean war was going on. For a bit after that but it's the classic thing. If you're going to go off and head overseas and maybe not come back it's now or never baby that was a very real real thing of that time and it still is really it totally is every day for a whole lot of families. Since you're doing audio tracks, what that thumbnail image is is what I discovered as a double CD collection with tons of songs on it and they were all number one hits. They were all number one hits. I've watched your playlist on here and just wanted to say that I love your reactions to Elvis! I can tell that you really do enjoy it. This one happens to be in my top 5 ( although I admit, that's only if you are twisting my arm as he has a TON of great music ). He has some great jazzy blues songs and great jam sessions of blues tunes. One called Stranger in my own hometown ( X rated ). It's not really X rated, more like PG 13 rated, but it's great! He also has the released version which is great too. No footage, but still definitely worth checking out. Elvis has dipped into all types of music from the time he was alive. So much to enjoy! Thank you very much😁

- - - Opera was a major affect on Elvis' music. Check out Mario Lanza, one of his influences. Lots of folks make the mistake to think of Elvis as a blues copycat, but he also had Country Music, Pop Crooners, Appalachin/Bluegrass, and Classical influences.
