Elvis was so cool.in this concert sounding like 1950s Elvis. Even early 70s Elvis in Vegas doesn't come close to this performance. All those pills must have affected his brain

MrCrashBandicoot35 Jacko was a great performer when he was younger, later he required a huge ensemble to do his thing, also, his pedophilia is hard to ignore. BB King was a gentleman but there are so many better blues players (Muddy, Buddy, Hooker, Wolf, SRV, etc.) I’d bet you can’t name five BB blues hits! (He only had a few). Presley’s talent, moves, looks, charisma, and 147 gold records qualify him for the title.

I’m 60 years old and I’m from Switzerland (Lucerne), I’ve been listening to Elvis since I was 10 years old, I watched Elvis' live concert in Hawaii in 1973. I appreciate many kinds of good music, I also know all the songs of Johnny Cash and June Carter (Great) and other great artists. However, Elvis remains the greatest musician and entertainer of all time, but in all his songs, all the power of his soul comes out. One could also say that he gave his whole heart to his listeners. This way is definitely unique and I think it will remain so. Denis Herger

I'm don't mean this as a put down, but if I remember correctly, MJ proclaimed himself the "King of Pop". Elvis didn't proclaim himself the " King of Rock and Roll". He didn't have to because millions and millions of people did that for him!

If you watch elvis like me you would see ..evey once I'm a while he would get bored.. then he would stare into the Camara smirk and start screwing around that 1 of the exxallat parts of elvis that I loved very talented... but very hilarious when you were not looking I've seen him grab a gy by the head.fall.of his chair eat the microphone stuff like this I'll never forget

The REAL Elvis! I guess that's the kind of stuff he really wanted to play. Simple and honest music! Don't get me wrong - no one but Elvis could look cool in those Las Vegas jumpsuits but all in all I think he only wanted to be a singer. And a singer he really was! What a voice! I love his humor and the way he would interact with his band and his choir singers. Apart from all those commercial aspects Elvis was nothing but a rocker and a rhythm 'n' blues singer. I wished we could have seen more of that side of him. He will always be THE King!

Can you just imagine, Elvis in August 1977 calling off the tour, taking a year off, getting completely sober, maybe traveling overseas incognito with just his family and skeleton crew, thoroughly recharging his batteries, getting physically, mentally, and spiritually healthy,.... and when the time was right, go out do a completely unplugged tour where he does just what does here, with of course updated new songs added. Maybe he does an unplugged tour with his good friend Tom Jones and 30 years later they both get judging gigs with The Voice, TJ in Britain, and EP in the US... Hmmm what could have been.....

These "Comeback Special" miniconcerts together were the best performances of Elvis' entire career, and this performance may be the best of them all. He was so intense on this number, if somebody had touched him, that person would melt.

Because Colonel Parker made them use "Blue Christmas" instead! Why? Because (1) The Special was going to air in Dec. 68 and (2)He was a douche bag that didn't have a clue about what was best for Elvis and he didn't care!
