My fave movie from Elvis! Aug 16, 1977 Who remembers where they were? I do! I was 11 yrs. old & sitting in the back of an Oldsmobile, at a convenience/gas station store, in Cleveland Ohio, waiting with the driver, for 2 other adults that went in to the store. Seconds before they returned, the radio announcer blared over the radio, "Elvis Presley is dead"! I only remember the driver's face in shock and the other two adults getting in the car with obvious disbelief and shock on their faces. I just kept looking at them and listening as the report came in more length and as the reality set in, the tears began to fall. I'll never forget where I was the day that Elvis died. Only M.J. and 9/11 are embedded in my memory in that same fashion.

Definitely one of his best movies.

Eddie Murphy grew up in the same general area I did, even though he was slightly older he caught the Elvis bug too. He was a huge Elvis fan. He got the name of his band out of this movie.. He called them "The Bus Boys". They were in the movie "48 Hours" and his opening act during his Stand Up shows.

Walter Matthau plays the club owner and Carolyn Jones plays his girl. She was Morticia Addams in The Addams Family tv series a few years later. Some great actors and songs in this movie. I think it was Elvis' best and he said it was his favorite.

Elvis did a great version of this song in the '68 comeback special. His voice became deeper and more powerful ten years after this movie.
