A few years back, There was a restoration investment group that planned on moving the cottage to within the ranch property, along with restoring the entire ranch, making it a tourist spot. But it didn't work out from what I understand. Thanks for watching and commenting.

If you go on google maps it is very easy to find. You can actually see the bridge from the satelitte view. It is located on some well traveled roads. I assume back in 1968, it was more remote and country, and I would bet the roads were not as wide.
@MrPAULONEAL

@tishaker From what I have gathered, The Pink building was built after Elvis sold the ranch,It was a mexican resturant then used as some type of resort, Off to the side of the building there is a large inground pool with what is left of out door showers enclosed in block walls, It looks as though it was very nice at one time, but now the building is torn up inside, although still structurally sound, Thanks for watching our video,,

I agree Jerri, The building on the property is a huge gawdy pink concrete block structure that was actually built after the presleys sold out. it was used as a restaurant and resort. it is in horrible condition.

@JAARNO88 I agree, the sight of the Grill with trees growing up through it and bricks being taken from it was heartbreaking. I don't understand how the owner of the property doesn't charge for tours of the ranch., it would become a regular attraction for those visiting Graceland. its only about a 40 minute drive from Graceland.. The owner would make a mint, and it would be preserved. Thanks for the comment.

@MrMikepresley Thank you Mike, If the little house wasnt in such a condition and about to be gutted or tore down, (I was told by a neighbor) I would never had considered removing a peice of the carpet, Which of course was not the original carpet, Although Im pretty sure the cieling beams in the bedroom were original, and even though im sure that somone might want to posess them I would not wish to be the person to remove them without the proper permission, Thanks for watching ,,
@1880TimeTraveler
@1880TimeTraveler 11 жыл бұрын
I agree with the "DON'T". And in defense of the 6"x 6" piece of carpet from the cottage, half of the carpet had been cut out, not to mention it obviously was not the Original carpet from Elvis's era. The cottage is in horrible condition, Having last been used as a flower shop, And in the decades before that being transferred from hand to hand, other than the floor plan there is little left of the Elvis Time. but when it comes to the Grill on the Ranch and the bridge, They are nearly Sacred.

They should go ahead and knock down the house and keep the bbq pit...... The bridge should stay but make any repairs that it need.. Do a little yard work and that place will be ok! The reason why I said knock the house down because it's not the same. They sold that land to save Graceland. Reason why I said save the bbq pit and bridge because Elvis had that custom made and Elvis wanted that bridge so they should stay!

From a fan's standpoint, this video is priceless and I would have done everything you did. I felt like I was with the two of you, especially as you headed to the bar-b-que pit. I was so happy when we, I mean, YOU found it. Very sad to see the condition of the ranch, but it was once Elvis and Priscilla's place and sure beats watching five minutes of watching a parking lot. By the way, I sing Elvis music in my own voice for the CBSEye channel. You might have a look and a chuckle. Again, thanks f

When we were there the building was in shambles. but you could still see that it was a restaurant , and overall the structure was very solid. with a great open porch with the archways you see on the upper floor. it is a huge building.

The cross was there before Elvis purchased the property. It was the thing that drew his attention to the property to begin with. Also the bridge was pre Elvis as well. He did loose a wedding ring while riding horses, believed to have been along the property line by the road. Nice video .

Very cool footage. Thanks for posting. By the way...from what I understand, Elvis did not build the bridge or have the cross placed on the property. They were both already there. The b-b-q pit however, was actually placed there by Elvis. Really cool to imagine Elvis, and all his buddies, sitting around the pit, in those old aluminum lawn chairs, sipping Schlitz and Pearl beer in a can, smoking sausages, chicken, and brisket...just having a grand old time. Very cool indeed.

@1880TimeTraveler
@1880TimeTraveler 9 жыл бұрын
Nicole, A couple of years after the Presley's sold the ranch a group came in and tried to make the place some type of resort or something. the pink building was among other things a restaurant. there was also a pool on the north side of the building with what looked like the remnants of shower stalls near the pool. My camera battery went dead before we got to the pink building, pool area and bridge. THAT SUCKED!! lol

That was after she gave birth to Lisa, she seemed to think it had something to do with him not being able to look at a "mother" in a sexual way, But Who knows, I think that is a question that only Elvis could answer, And he isn't talking.
