@@GlobetrottingWithTrey My friend and I talked to him at the Mid-South Fair in (I believe) '53. He wore a powder blue western suit with fringe. I got my first autograph then. I saw him downtown near the Malco (now the Orpheum) once and pointed him out to my mother. She was laughing as he was walking with one leg on the curb and one on a second lower curb, bobbing up and down. I said, "Do you know who that is? That's Elvis!" When I saw him with Natalie Wood, a bunch of us were piled in a car going home from Central High School. He was stopped on his motorcycle with Natalie Wood talking to Patsy Presley from our school (we heard she was a cousin?). We stopped to talk to them. (She had on lt brown corduroy pants with a scarf on her head.) He also lived on Lamar St in Memphis in 1955 which was less than 3 blocks from where I lived. He had a pink Cadillac then. .
