Elvisistheman, you MUST be a true Elvis fan to have found/discovered this. Spectacular ear. This is nothing....NO-thing less than incredible singing from Elvis (and in his so called 'later years'....just proving to me that, as he stated in his 1972 New York press conference, his voice and band actually IMPROVED over time....which is inconceivably wild). He sang/lived with his heart....and he wore his heart on his sleeve. Almost 50 years after his passing and there are (very) few beings on this planet that have ever impressed me as much as this "Prince From Another Planet". Thank you for revealing yet ANOTHER facet!

It was so great to hear him work the situation to a fantastic end. I love his 1970 dinner show version of "Bridge" the best. It brings tears I'm ashamed to say whenever I see it and he looks fantastic and so emotive. My favorite was his "Loving Feeling" improv, where he added at "Baby, baby, I'd get down on my knees for you..."THEN he asserts, "If this suit wasn't too tight...". He added that funny quip so beautifully into the verse, that it sounded great and many recordings keep it in. I mean, that instance really sounds great and shows his showmanship and energy par excellence. The King will never be duplicated.

@ElvisistheMan_ I just heard "Danny Boy" for the first time a few days ago from his album, "Live From EP Boulevard in Memphis, Tennessee". I think this version is absolutely the best I have EVER heard in my life. Of course, the song is known by everybody in its different forms, and so I was at first passing by Elvis' version and not giving it a try. Boy, am I glad I played it. It is a masterpiece by far. Elvis' "Danny Boy" is deeply touching and a gift from Elvis that everybody should experience.

I love this version the first time I heard that song by him was in 1970 when the concert was televised on television and I fell in love with that song take care and God bless

After th 68 Special , there were no televised concerts, E. was in Vegas, 69. Elvis That's Th Way It Is, was in theatres in 70, Th crafty Col. wouldn't overexpose El on tv. El on Tour,.. was also film in theatres 72 Not till after El. died, was first concert released, of his last tour, Jun 21- 26 .

Elvis did mess up thigns sometimes. Just like all of us. I remember seeing a clip of his pres conference in Germany from October 1958, just when he came there. At the end when he was going to leave, he wanted to say goodbye to people in original way, so he said "Arrividerci". Great upload David! Your spot on with Elvis’s reprise versions. “Hurt” was always a great one as was “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling” if you’ve ever heard the ones from TTWII. He also did “Let Me Be There” and “I Can’t Stop Loving You”. However, my favorite was always “Bridge” as Elvis called it. My favorite reprise of “Bridge” was the ‘71 version in Boston! Between his vocals and Kathy’s as well as the vocal encouragement you could audibly hear from Estelle Brown and the amazing vocalizing from the rest of the Sweet Inspirations; it was just spell binding. “Bridge” and I’d have to add “How Great Thou Art”, now that I think about it, were just solid Elvis gold, IMO. Thanks so much for this edition.

That incident forgetting the lyrics made remember one of my favorite "embarrassing but cute" Elvis moments. Elvis is on The Ed Sullivan Show on October 28, 1956, performing "Love Me" when he forgets the lyrics, gets desperate, since he's on TV, so he literally asks for help but then he manage to find his way by his own quickly, just like in this performance you shared. That's the kind of silly mistake you punish yourself mentally for when it's time to go have some sleep, so you keep rewinding it obsessively in your head. 😂 Some people are mean and judge Elvis for forgetting the lyrics, specially on the late concerts of his career, but it's fair... Could happen to anyone anytime. It did even at the beginning of his career. It's easy to understand he was focusing on the physical aspect of the performance and the lyrics vanished off his mind for a moment, only human.

Elvis stopped doing encores, not because of what Parker wanted, but even before Parker became his manager. He stopped because fans would rush the stage. And by not coming back, as expected it gave him, scotty, bill and DJ time to getaway safely. It wasn't about leaving fans wanting more, it was for his and his entourages safety. You should read about the times that the fans tore up the stage, and the time in Canada when they kept creeping closer and closer to the stage. Elvis, Scotty, Bill and DJ barely got out of there alive. TCE

I like to hear flubs -- they're interesting, show a little of the workings up there on stage, and they're not a big deal. When he "flubbed" the spoken part of _Are You Lonesome Tonight_ during the concert recorded for his 1977 *Elvis In Concert* TV special, there were "critics" who said it was because he was high on drugs. What a load of crap! If you re-watch it, you'll see he most likely was putting us on for comedic effect. He'd been doing it with that song for years. I think because he thought the song was a little too overwrought.

That’s ridiculous about the Facebook page. Sorry to hear that. I wonder if it’s the profile picture and if they’re saying you edited it to “make it look like Elvis is holding a sign with the name of the page.” But still, very obvious, and any rational human reviewing it should easily see that and restore your page. Love this recording of Bridge. Thank you for sharing.
