I don't understand why so many people have a problem with this book. I think virtually all of it has been confirmed by other insiders and researchers. Nothing in this entire book has been in the least bit shocking

I think anyone who is a super Elvis fan in this day and age is probably defensive about it because it’s such a niche thing. Even for most “old” people, he was already washed up and uncool for their generation. I’m a millennial and it would be like Michael Jackson for us, who was seen as a washed up loser when we were kids.

Great points by all of you. Great food for thought. I can see the parallel with Michael Jackson. I was born in 1975, and the big death that I took hard was John Lennon in 1980, as I was already a huge fan. And there's no shortage of nasty stuff about him out there.

I remember that Elvis was finished in the mid 70's. He was like a Liberace. The singer song writers were hot. Unless an established academy award actor or great character actor , age was a problem also. Forty was too old back in that time. Elvis lacked a good financial advisor or business muse. Elvis should have let Priscilla, run a ranch business or open his own record company, recording studio or even an Elvis Land. Elvis did not realize he did the first MTV. Elvis did not have to be anyone's tool but not educated enough to see his mass opportunities.

Larry Geller had dinner with my uncle and i a limo company owner. He was angry with elvis long after he died about something? id say Priscilla and money had something to do with it. Said Linda Left because Elvis stank. People say at one time you could feel him walk in a room. Around 73-till he passed you could smell him come into a room. He didn't take a shower for 5 yrs? More or less. And started treating Linda like a child. She had enough and hauled ass. Ginger thought she was getting married? Larry said she was wings south soon. Elvis had another 20 yr old he would have made public around Christmas 1977. Larry wasn't happy that day. We just sat back and took it in. We chauffered Larry in The Rolls Royce. Refused to charge the man😂 what a conversation. Worth every penny.

It's such a shame that their friendship had to end like it did. All because Vernon didn't do what Elvis told him. Vernon was supposed to give them $5000 to tide them over, but he only gave them one weeks pay. But what kind of friend records the conversation and betrays trust by writing a tell all book? Elvis was going to hire them back in a couple weeks,he let them go to teach them a lesson . They had been roughing up the fans uneccesarily, and Elvis was facing several lawsuits as a result!

I’ve read 3 books and watched several documentaries and Elvis did have awful behavior. out of control tempers and behavior ran in his family. and I’m surprised the guys had to work under such awful conditions it really is crazy of course E would apologize and make it up at times in various ways but overall it never changed. once that I know of E made V increase their pay but that was early on when they worked for nothing later there were also other pay increases but dang - Vernon was known for being mean and tight with money so sad considering these guys sacrificed everything to work for the family, they even sacrificed their own families, some of them. Gladys when she died wanted her family taken care of but Vernon would not honor that wish and I understand because it’s not his immediate family. The Presleys had many good qualities too but E was out of control - a victim of his celebrity and his background- heartbreaking - the guys should not have wrote a book like this they should have been loyal to E no matter what E had done. easier said than done when you’re getting treated bad by someone. but the book is defamation even though the stories are true you can see they are just twerked off from the out of left field angle this is written from, they were angry about the money, if only they had known the right way to talk to elvis, he was their boss and he had to fire them for acting how they were towards him I’d have done the same thing but I would have tried to modify my behavior too if people kept coming to me and saying this or that that they were dissatisfied with something ❤️😢 E was spiraling out towards the end and the drug environment would have made normal smooth relationships in the group basically impossible, and that is what happened it just started to implode towards the end. and the fact that no one acknowledges is that E was not just using, spiraling, having outbursts of emotionally out of control behavior and outbursts of out of control spending, he was dying - dying from everything, he had poor health genetically, a genetic condition that brought on early death that ran through his whole family, and that is why his drug use was exacerbated so much in the end. So that and the crazy career took a toll and he was dying the last three years behavior outburst can be a part of that. if only we as human beings could recognize this about others we only see the effect it has on us and we get mad. pray for grace towards others even for those who mistreat us to the most extreme. It’s only a reflection of the brokenness inside themselves

well, Elvis dished out a lot onto those people too though. I agree that they should not have published this book. they should have told him once told him twice then made arrangements to leave, they were right in that they saw a disaster coming and they died to warn E in their own imperfect way. The disaster hit the family later after all these guys were fired you can read about it fully in the maids story who worked for the family her whole life and she saw everything that happened the day E passed away. The authors of this book were trying to prevent this from happening but the team would not listen to them. V and the C and Elvis himself were all too into the money and fame to slow down so heartbreaking we should have had E for much longer and it would have been so wonderful to have seen him take care of himself ❤️

The Mafia talk about little money $450 a week in 1970 is $3,421 a week in 2024! wouldn't call it peanuts. New Cadillacs, rent paid, free food, free trips to Hawaii, jewelry, insurance covered. Pretty damn good if ya ask me. Give me 3,421 a week I'll take a bullet for a rockstar. I own a small trucking company 15 trucks on road I don't clear near that much a year, in personal salary.I pay myself $1,500 a weak and that's for me and my wife! and happy my company can afford it. Sonny& Red made $176,800 a yr in 2024$$$. Id gladly put up with some drugged up Rockstar than deal with 15 trucks on road and another 5 in my shop broke in PCs.. I'll never forgive Sonny and Red.… Dave just got drug along with big money promises. Sonny Said they wrote book to get though to Elvis. I think it helped kill him. But Elvis got them died shortly after nobody cared about the book after that. If anyone got screwed it was DR Nick. I remember sonny and his wife around 2009? Cleaning building sites and running a we'll haul anything away garbage service. Nothing wrong with that. But he and Judy old people tromping around in dumpsters? What about that book? May have been mild to the public ,but not to the king. RIP ELVIS ❤ sonny and Red were never friends. ever!!!!!

Where Elvis could have been a very honest , humble and sweet person on one hand he was terribly mischievous and almost Evil on another, l don’t condone what Red , Sonny and the other guy said about the book , l feel that the book is almost accurate about the way Elvis had be coming after his taking so many drugs Elvis wasn’t naïve he knew those drugs not good to take “ he made excuses for the medication’s” Elvis lam afraid was bipolar, just like Gladys ! I am not following Elvis anymore for l don’t think it is what God wants me to do ! l use too think Elvis was a wonderful and God fearing Man , but not any more ! Elvis should have not been that way he is no better then any one else to be a man of integrity, truth , and goodness but l have since change God is a lot more interesting and loving 🥰🙏🙏🙏

The fact that Red West recorded Elvis in a private telephone conversation for use in this book is absolutely disgusting and despicable. Here's Elvis' saying I want to help you and you're wife and this snake is taping him and putting the transcript in the book. Pure slime. Judas!!!

Why ? Love how people talk shit. Nobody knows the facts. Those guys looked after him well they did everything for him. They were always there for him. 24 hours a day. 7 days a week 365 days a year they protected him from assassinations attempts Red broke a drug dealer foot for giving Elvis drugs. They genuinely cared. But it came down to how could you protect a man from himself. You can’t and when they tried they were fired Elvis was his own worst enemy

The episode of the racist comments stemmed from Vernon, but also Elvis was influenced by that and went after Marty Lacker and his family, for no reason other than being Jewish. There’s no need for that whatever kind of mood he was in pharmaceuticals he was stopped up with and doing that to a guy that you considered to be your close friend? Shame on Elvis for that. 😊
