You would expect the OG to be the expensive one tuning-wise, but alas.

Yeah, this makes the Pilgrim a great value.

but honestly the OG sounds like shit for metal. so, it's not a true all-rounder as many have said (which says a lot about many people's music taste I guess). other than that, it's great for most classical, analog recordings, & modern pop productions. *a little bit upper midrange in the mix, you're dead. *the snare hit can be a physical knock to your brain which is... unpleasant.

Atech great reviews man, quick A-B testing is the way to go. I wanna know which is better set irrespective of price, davinci or pilgrim? Which has better quality bass, sound separation? Also which got better soundstage? Someone said pilgrim present a wall of sound rather than wrapping around / immersive. Ill pull the trigger after your suggestion 💸👀.

Hey man, Thanks for your trust. I just listened to both IEMs again, A/B testing them, and they sound completely different. The Pilgrim has better sub-bass with more detail and rumble. The DaVinci, on the other hand, has even more sub-bass (quantity) that is very tactile and easily felt. The DaVinci's bass is more than I prefer, making it fun but not something I would use as my only IEM. This bass is enjoyable and great for immersive watching of movies, videos, and many genres of music. There’s a tape mod for the DaVinci where people cover othe vent to lower the bass, but I haven't tried it. While the DaVinci has a lot of mid-bass, I feel the Pilgrim could use a few more dBs of mid-bass to make it really fun. However, the Pilgrim's bass is of higher quality. The mid-range of the DaVinci is fuller with more note weight. Male vocals sound thick and have depth. The Pilgrim has a more accurate sound, higher resolution, and better detail with superior instrument separation, especially in busy tracks. I prefer the mid-range and treble on the Pilgrim. The treble is much better, sounding realistic, airy, and never splashy. Zero sibilance on the Pilgrim no matter what I listen to. In terms of soundstage, both IEMs are okay but not exceptional. The DaVinci has OK width but leans towards a more intimate soundstage. The Pilgrim has a wider soundstage but with average depth and is not immersive. Both IEMs are not immersive, but the Pilgrim sounds wider and has more accurate imaging. (noticeable) If I had to choose one, I’d go with the Pilgrim. But if bass is your top priority, the DaVinci is the way to go. I hope this helps!

That is very helpful. It's impressive that pilgrim has better separation with less drivers when both iem has good implementation. With less midbass it seems better suited for me. What is confusing is that people have vastly different opinions about the same sets which I've never seen before. Anyways thanks alot for taking your time and writing and replying to the comments. Keep up great vids 🙌🙏

Amazing review. Very detailed and easy to understand. I think Elysian should start thinking about selling Noir with original cable and let consumers choose according to their preferences without having to pay more.

@@Atechreviews Thank you! From your experience, is there any IEM that you would say is worth it around and under $1600 over the Pilgrim? I know there are diminishing returns, and with the way you describe the Pilgrim, it seems like it's diminished even more haha. I'm just looking for a nice upgrade and I can spend more than $400.

@@user-oz8rb5ee4f A few IEMs are great but not necessarily better than the Pilgrim; they just sound different. These IEMs offer unique sound signatures rather than being outright superior. Some examples include the DaVinci, Sennheiser IE600, and Softears Studio 4. Some are better like DUNU SA6 MK II, Softears RSV, and 64 Audio U12T. Pilgrim is great value and upgrading from it to something better (not just different) is challenging. One of the best IEMs I've ever listened to is the Elysian DIVA. It's an endgame IEM that makes me feel like I can stop looking for other options because it has everything I need. I highly recommend you demo it first to see if it suits your preferences. Despite being detailed, it never sounds harsh, even with challenging tracks. Although it's expensive, it's worth every penny and frequently goes on sale. There are more detailed IEMs at this price point, but even with those in my collection, I find myself gravitating toward the DIVA more often. By the way, there is a big difference in sound quality between the Pilgrim and the DIVA.

 @Atechreviews Thank you for the detailed reply! I kept looking at the DIVA and I was under the impression it was amazing for vocals, but that it wouldn't stand out for other aspects like bass. I'm by no means a basshead but I do like a good bass. I have demo'd the NOIR and the bass felt like such a big upgrade over the Blessing 3 (where it felt like it didn't exist unless EQ). I was satisfied with it, and it surprised me that people mentioned it can be even better haha. Can I expect a similar bass response from the DIVA? I'll go over your DIVA review again and hopefully I'll find it discounted somewhere. I remember them dropping to $1250 was it? And if I do pick them up, is the included cable good enough? Thanks again for your detailed reply, it really helps me out. You're a beast. Edit: your review answered some concerns like the included cable haha. Have you tried it with any other cables?

How do they compare to the DaVinci?
@Atechreviews
@Atechreviews 23 күн бұрын
I compared them in the DaVinci review video. The Pilgrim offers significantly better detail retrieval, resolution, and instrument separation than the DaVinci, with more treble extension but less bass. The Pilgrim Noir has similar treble extension to the DaVinci but with higher quality sound and detail. The Noir also features a more relaxed mid-range presentation compared to the DaVinci.

@rem792
@rem792 24 күн бұрын
😂yes. Uh, no.
@Atechreviews
@Atechreviews 23 күн бұрын
Actually, yes. On their official website, the Eros S cable costs around $299 if you choose the 2-Pin and 4.4mm option. If you opt for the TermX (modular plug system) and ConX (interchangeable connectors like MMCX, 2-Pin, etc.), like on the Pilgrim Noir, it will cost around $379. TermX and ConX connectors need to be purchased separately. This price difference between the Pilgrim OG and the Pilgrim Noir is likely due to the added cost of the cable, as well as differences in the BA driver and crossover network.
@Silverjerk
@Silverjerk 20 күн бұрын
It depends on what you value in a cable. I own the original Eros S with both TermX and ConX. To me, it was worth the investment, but not because it improved the tuning of my IEMs, but because it made my life easier. The only reasons to buy an upgrade cable is look, feel, connection and termination types, and to avoid microphonics or other issues you might run into in a lower-end cable. I have dozens of IEMs with Pentaconn, MMCX and 2-pin, and numerous DAC/Amps with 2.5, 3.5 and 4.4. So it was worth it to me to have a single cable that felt good and would work with all my IEMs. In that way, it was a valuable upgrade in my eyes. If you just need a single cable with one 3.5 connector (or a 4.4, since 2.5 really isn’t relevant any longer and is being slowly phased out), you’d be better off looking at Xinhs, NiceHCK, or something like Simgot’s LC7. If you want to buy a better looking cable or something custom built, look at Hart, or Viking Weave, or better still I highly recommend Gladiator cables, which are unbelievably affordable for a custom built cable that is beautifully made. Antonio from Gladiator is a gem of a person and a real hobbyist who truly loves the hobby. TLDR: worth is subjective. It will not dramatically improve sound quality. But if it’s valuable to you to have the added utility, like it was for me, it might be worth the cost. If you’re buying it for “sound quality,” you are likely to never notice it in most cases and thus it isn’t worth it.
