holy crap 100,000 subscribers. there's not much I can say that hasn't been said before, but thank you so much for your supportive comments and feedback on my channel. i hope you enjoy this video of one of my favorite worms, and I hope it lives up to the task of being a 100k subscriber "special" worm.

this worm took about two weeks of work, with several hours put in each day, to get this video made, so i really do hope you like it. as always, nothing ever works when the camera is pointed at it, and magistr was no exception. to finally get all the pieces recorded was great, but it took about 20 reinstallations of windows 98, so the video/desktop layout/etc might be a bit disjointed.
thank you all again for helping me make it this far. this is insane.

Holy cow, this worm seems pretty destructive, not to mention obsessive. The guy who made this must have been pretty angry!

also for those who noticed the "buymeoverwatch.plz" domain, I don't actually want/need anyone to buy it for me, though i do appreciate the offers! that was just the domain my friend flappy wanted for his email entry in the video.

something about worms like this is so fascinating to me. worms built off of pure anger or other emotion. these are the kinds of worms that actually scare me, even if I'd never be targeted by them. that's another interesting thing about this worm, it's so specific. it's like the author tried as hard as they could to keep anyone besides their specific target safe.

I really like how viruses do so much to hide themselves. E.G only triggering on some dates, only triggering if there are particular phrases. It mimics how actual viruses can't be too brutal or they'll kill their host before they can spread.

In my teenage years I have been infected by the Magistr.B. Fortunately, it didn't succeed in overwriting my BIOS. It was slightly different than this version though. I don't think it required specific law-related documents, and instead of overwriting the MBR, it would delete all partitions but C:. You would make new ones, start putting stuff in it... only for it to delete the partitions again a few days later. Also, it wouldn't overwrite the executables rendering them useless, no... it would just infect them all.

danooct, I've been subscribed to you for a couple of years now - I LOVE watching your videos, your casual demeanor, your enthusiasm, your knowledge and ability to make it accessible to "Computers for Dummies" cases such as myself. I'm not kidding when I say that I look forward to your videos and do a happy dance whenever I see a new one. Keep it up man, we love you!

It’s been 4 years and we’re still watching. These videos are really enjoyable, as someone who has a fear of computer viruses leftover from bricking my mom’s computer in my childhood. Your dry sense of humor always cracks me up. Hope you’re doing well.
