Emancipation is directed by Antoine Fuqua, from a script by William N. Collage. The Apple Original Film is produced by Will Smith and Jon Mone through Westbrook Studios, Joey McFarland though McFarland Entertainment and Todd Black through Escape Artists. Chris Brigham, Antoine Fuqua, James Lassiter, Heather Washington, Cliff Roberts, Glen Basner and Scott Greenberg are executive producing.

Poor critic reviews and poor box office attendance. Too, Will Smith is attempting to shake being box office poison after slapping Chris Rock at the Oscars. Still, it is a story that needs to be told, and the director was willing to take a chance on Smith.

This is the first time I saw in a movie, a squad of black soldiers marching together, who just recently escaped death, and faces death once more to fight for total freedom. Yall see how strong that scene/statement is?

Very disappointing movie. Django had much more of true data in their film than this one. Will Smith tries to show you his interpretation of slavery. Again, very disappointing.

Really??🤔🤔 this is a very enlightening movie!! The fact Django is Fictional and this is Nonfictional it gives the viewer an insight into how these monsters treated a certain group of people back then😔😔 and the fact that it was legal is what disgusts the most…
