It argued about unity in the country, and that it wouldn't accept unity with Ethiopia. Ra'as Tesema Asmerom was elected as president of the organisation. One of many stories about Ras Tesema Asmerom:- Haile Sellasie visited Eritrea, he invited Ras Tesema to meet him in Asmara.
